Werewolf by Night was the first Marvel Studios Special Presentation, and if it's any indication of what's to come, we're going to explore lots of exciting, unexpected sides of the MCU on Disney+ moving forward.
This horror-themed adventure introduced us to characters like Jack Russell, Man-Thing, and Elsa Bloodstone, and we can now take a much closer look at Werewolf by Night. Shown only sparingly in the black-and-white special (harkening back to the horror movies of yesteryear), this piece of artwork by Billy Christian showcases the character's comic-accurate design.
There have, of course, been some changes for his live-action debut, including the face paint worn by Gael García Bernal's Jack. That gives the character an extra touch which singles him out from other big screen werewolves and pays homage to his human side's heritage.
While by no means a raging monster as Werewolf by Night has been portrayed in some recent comics, we've seen how formidable he is. However, the fact Jack has no control while in this form...well, that could be problematic if and when he joins a team like the Legion of Monsters.
"A Halloween horror delight, Werewolf by Night is a mighty impressive, macabre Marvel monster tale that introduces some killer new characters and proves Marvel Studios can still find plenty of ways to surprise us," we said in our review of the Marvel Studios Special Presentation. "More Man-Thing is a must!"
Talking of Man-Thing, we're hoping some concept art of "Ted" will show up online before too long as well.
