I think he's going to die in Avengers 2.
He used the last years of his life to make up for his mistakes, serve humanity, save NYC, and ultrimately become a superhero. He was a "dead man walking" as soon as the shrapnel entered his chest.

lets see what iron man 3 makes if its anywhere near a billion there will be an iron man 4.

The spoilers you keep posting are widely available on the internet, if someone wants to see them, they can. Nobody needs you to "warn the true fans". And I love how you completely ignored the first thing I said. Apparently you must not be much of a true fan if you don't think at least one of the things you've said happened in the comics.

@daysgoneby you are not warning "true fans" you are destroying the experience and enjoyment of the film for everyone. Now no matter what you say I am a true fan, and despite going into the cinema wit the twist already ruined for me (from people like you) I loved the film. At the end of the day the MCU is no longer just a translation of page to screen, it's (as stated in the name) it's own universe and like when the ultimate universe was formed it was a chance to see events and characters we like in a different light. Now personally I am not a fan of the ultimate comics, but you don't see me bitching and whining. It is clear that the MCU is a mix of 616/ultimate and an entirely new filmic approach. Things are going to be different, and because of that people will have their opinions on Iron man 3. But not for one second does that give you the right to believe that anyone on this site will benefit from your inconsiderate approach to commenting on this site. you sir if anything are showing yourself up and as not a "true fan" and I highly hope that anyone no matter what thoughts on any Marvel/DC/CBMs would back me up in saying just log the [frick] off and never come back. Just watched iron man 3 and I fell asleep it's boring and crap and I can't see anymore im movies.

CBM needs to start banning people's IP addresses, the amount of people that keep spoiling the movie is baffling.

good..that doesnt mean that the characters wont be showing up in the future in avengers 2 or as cameos in other movies. others should follow that example, instead of regurgitating 7 movies with the same character (and another reboot on the way)

good for marvel for letting the characters and audience rest for a while and take the chance to explore other characters in their comic-book universe. instead of keep milking the same two cows eternally.
