Iron Man 2 Premiere switches from UK to US!

The world premiere of Iron Man 2, due to be held in west London, has been moved to Los Angeles because of the continuing air chaos...

The reason for the move is because of the uncertainty over air travel between the UK and US due to the Icelandic volcanic eruption (as can be seen below), which has been wreaking havoc across Europe since Thursday and making the skies over Britain a no-fly zone meaning that the cast could not be brought into the country and the premiere would have lacked the usual red carpet glamour.

Stars including Robert Downey Jr, Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson were all due to attend the event on 26 April.

A statement from Paramount Pictures said, "Due to the continuing air travel uncertainty, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment have taken the decision to move the Iron Man 2 world premiere and junket to Los Angeles. Advanced discussions are in progress about a special screening at the Vue Westfield, the original venue for the world premiere on April 26."

It is not known whether the star's scheduled appearance on this week's Jonathan Ross show will be affected by the decision to move the film's premiere.

@tea ill be honest man.. i LOVED let the right one in even though i only own the version with voice overs (terrible id rather the subtitles) but im still excited to see what they do with let me in. The title isnt butchered because apparently thats the exact translation of the book which i havent read. Its such a lame move to remake it because its only 08 and it did well, its jsut those who cant read apparently, but i liked the first one enough to be excited for anyhting similar. It wont be as good but it wont get as much credit. A swedish film with lousey voice overs becoming a hit in the u.s. is impressive so this movie wont take away from the original

I can live without the premiere being held here, it does make sense for a film largely set on America's west coast to premiere there in L.A.

Looking up and seeing clear blue skies and no contrails has been strangely uplifting for many of us here in the UK.
