The whole "I'm a Marvel..." schtick is getting old. Especially since no one has seen those Apple commercials for quite a few years. But JustSomeRandomGuy is still doing a pretty good job garnering some laughs with his humor.
Good job, Jman and Johnny Love on a great review! I saw the fight scene with Whiplash here on CBM and am prepared for that virgin teenage boy at promnight disappointment.

hey guys! I saw the movie last night @ the minight screening with all the fanboys/girls.

In my opinion, don't believe the critics that badmouth this movie. They mostly have problems with the number of characters and arcs (IM1 had 4 characters and 1 arc, IM2 has 7 major characters each with their own agenda). I think that makes sense and it all intertwines well. They also expected more action scenes but IM1 only had 2 key action scenes (fighting the kidnappers and fighting Iron Monger) and although there weren't as many action scenes, the ones that were in were long enough and visually stunning.

Edit: I didn't like SMJ's role as Fury. its basically SMJ but with an eye patch.

Bottom line: don't believe the negative comments. its not the same as IM1 but it shouldn't have been anyway. This is a fantastic sequel and moves the franchise forward perfectly.

Whattup my hometown homies! Glad you guys liked it. I love how you get the other movie patron's opinions. They all seem to give super-genuine thoughts on the flicks in question. Can't wait to see this. I'm going in a couple of hours. Keep those reviews comin' J-Man and Johnny Love!

the 1st was better, i thought #2 started off a little bit slow and it was a little boring at times. also there wasnt enuff action and thruout the movie u couldnt really understand what mickey was saying..he went a little overboard with the accent. good movie dont get me wrong i enjoyed it deff. worth the 10 bucks.
just thought it could have been better, but overall pretty good!

Seriously @ GUYS!!!

Its no WATCHMEN and KICK ASS was better!! : P

Still it was a good movie but too many stupid bits an iffy effects!

SAM ROCKWELL and WAR MACHINE made this movie!!!

SLJ SUCKED (like i knew he would! : P)

After the freshness wears off, ppl will see IRON MAN I as a better movie though!

Should of used less CGI for the armor scenes, looked too fake even when there was no action!

(Did HOLLYWOOD not learn nothing from the crappy CGIed CLONE TROOPERS in "Attack of the Clones" lol, real suits are always better!)

P.S. Rourke's last scene and final suit was a huge let down!

Still I'll be buying the Blu-Ray!

: D

I'm going to stand firmly behind my statement that the first film was better than the second. Maybe that is because me and the crew watched the first film before we took our trip to IMAX - but anyways, time is in short supply so I'll give my 2 cent review:

**SPOILER - You've been warned**

Iron Man 2 was all about the pointless side quest. At no point in the film did I feel like Tony Stark was really going to die. It was like "OH NO YOU HAVE THE MATRIX GOING ON YOUR NECK!" Then Black Widow gave him the shot to slow the process. Who didn't see that coming? The only redeeming part of this whole storyline was Tony Stark got to make a new element. So bad ass.

I also did not get all the plot between the two ladies. Pepper and Black Widow - the Tony Stark character was rather reserved this film. He should have been asking for a 3-way to stick with the once more restated narcissistic play boy flaw. Instead, he just had a case of ooglie eyes and witty dialog.

Ivan - I felt like his screen time was cut too short based on the whole Hammer-time storyline. Personally, I feel this arc was way under played.

And..seriously - there needed to be more fighting. It's like this movie took the same approach as Transformers 2 and Spiderman 2 where there was more richly played out love story and less badassery.

At least the movie did have some wit, some tongue and cheek play, and of course, a tiny tiny clip of Thor's hammer.

So, in short, I feel the first is better. If you don't believe me, fire up your blue-ray players and watch it again for the first time.

no offence LEEE but Watchmen sucked compared to Iron Man 2, I could watch Iron Man 2 another 20 times but Watchmen was really really boring at times. And Kick-Ass was brilliant, but I would rather watch Iron Man 2 with the fantastic Robert Downey Jr than the idiot who played Kick-Ass

Just saw IM2! It was great. Great acting from ever growing legend RDJ. Cheadle was a much more believable Rhodes. Paltrow and Scarjo did well also. Sam L. Jackson's scenes are not designed to delve into the character of Nick Fury. He's there as a sort of mentor to Stark (therefore much more reserved) as well as to arch into the Avengers movie. Even J. Fav's character in the movie was great. Especially the fight scene with Scarjo as Black Widow in her hot leather outfit (very tight!). Fav's is always a great actor and put himself in just enough scenes that his character helps the flow of the film as well as adding just enough humor to those scenes. What can I say about the MICK. Rourke is back! He has always been an excellent actor and has not been given the shot with a feature film until recently. His accent was so perfect that I swear he could live in Russia and get by with it.
All in all this is a great movie. To say its better than IM1 is debatable. There is a bit more of character development here so the pace isnt quite as fast as IM1 but it's a very good film. The Easter Eggs and certain references or amount of them was just enough to get any fanboy/fangirl's heart beating. Go see it now!

If SLJ is in Captain America, will they use that as sort of a mini origin story for him since it's in WWII? I don't really want to see a Nick Fury movie. That is unless they can bring back the delightful David Hasselhoff! Might be good for a period piece because German's LOVE David Hasselhoff!!!

Good review. I loved this flic.

Gtrman, wow, you took the words out of my mouth. What else can I say. Best line in the whole movie though, "DJ A.M., gimme a phat beat to whoop my buddies ass to."

What's the hatin' on Fury? I think too many of you went in already determined to not like him, cause I have no complaint. In fact, the parts involving him had my attention the most because I knew most of the easter-eggs would come from him or SHIELD (which they did). Speaking of eggs, I'm starting to wonder if I was the only one who noticed the Cap comics in the capsule SHIELD gave to Stark... or maybe I just think they are more significant because the were preserved in that chest by Howard Stark for his son.

Something I guess I missed, what was the name of the element Stark created? Maybe I took a pee at the wrong time cause I never caught the name. I kept expecting to hear vibranium, especially when Jarvis said it could only occur naturally, and even adamantium at the point when Stark said 'Re-discover an element' as well as the fact that they DID synthesize some (Adamantium is a vibranium-iron alloy in Marvel comics). Someone help me out here.

I'm pretty sure Tony mentioned it. I forget what its called.

Did anyone else feel encouraged by Black Widow's fight sequence???

Man! I want to see that and more in a Wonder Woman movie!
