The film has a total of three action sequences, the best being the first, the second played purely for jokes, and the last anti-climactic garbage. In between these action sequences, we meet new and uninteresting characters, and we also get a load of S.H.E.I.L.D jargon that many will care very little about upon viewing Iron Man 2. This movie plays like a two-parter to a television drama, the story and villains being fairly generic. The content of Iron Man 2 is not up to the quality of a big budget super hero sequel. Spider Man 2 was better, Hellboy 2 (as silly and unapologetic as it was) was better, and yes, even Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had (though not as good as the first) more entertainment value than Iron Man 2. Unlike Revenge of the Fallen, Iron Man 2 has a coherent and fairly logical story, but at least Revenge of the Fallen kept our action needs satisfied. Sure, Robert Downey Jr. can make a bad movie better (Sherlock Holmes), but it's just not enough this time around. I believe that the many positive reviews of this film will look very silly in retrospect, when, in a few years, we look back and think why we paid money for this crap.
