In a recent interview with the U.K.'s SFX magazine, actress Scarlett Johansson revealed the best part of landing the role of the Black Widow opposite Robert Downey, Jr. in Iron Man 2:

"Kicking lots of a*s. I wanted to give it everything I had.

I hate to see a movie where you don't buy that a character is gonna beat the living sh*t out of you. [Laughs] Believing that about yourself is almost as much work as looking like you could beat the sh*t out of somebody."

Iron Man 2 blasts into theaters May 7, 2010!

She is ok. She may not be beautiful(tea@ i agree with you) but can act and surely she trained to perfection for the fight scenes. And that red air.......

I'm not too thrilled she's plYing the Black Widow. She's hot & all but she's not that good of an actress. They could've gone with a different actress. Hopefully she pulls it off in the movie.

I haven't been looking too closely at the IM news. Is Black Widow going to be Russian? Or is she going to be a Russian born brit too?

Frank... that's what I was wondering too... I haven't heard anything about her being Russian in the movie and on Entertainment Tonight they called her "Natalie". I don't think she was the right choice for this. (although she does look good in the cat suit.

ET probably got it wrong. She's probably Natalia. I have no doubt that she's a Russian in the film. I also think that with Scarlett having a husband who is such a huge comic book fan adds on to her being a good choice to be a comic book character.

in the comics she was originally a russian spy, maybe thats what she'll be in this...at least for the first part

(jk) Damn, she sure is BLACK WIDOW, hell i hope she does get that spin off sometime in the future too, shes perfect for the role and BLACK WIDOW is more than a superhero, a solo movie would work rather well.

If she is in AVENGERS though, i hope its just a small cameo and NO WARMACHINE what-so-ever!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing her version of Black Widow - its a pity that she wont have an accent but not the end of the world! From what they've said about the character so far, it makes sense for her to not have one anyway I guess!

LEE & teabag: I completely agree with you guys about War Machine - I cant wait to see him in <> but he has no place in The Avengers!!! :)

if she's a russian spy, it would kind of blow her cover to talk with a russian accent, lol

and warmachine kind of does have a place in the avengers considering that he was an avenger for a long time. but i agree, he shouldnt be in the movie.
