Robert Downey Jr. On IRON MAN 4-Mel Gibson Remark; 'Marvel Roster Coming Sooner Than Later'
In a 14-second video, the Avengers: Age of Ultron star displays his sense of humor to those who believed he would only do Iron Man 4 if Mel Gibson directs, by revealing another contender and more.
Over the weekend, Robert Downey Jr. took part in an interview with the infamous Deadline for his new drama film, The Judge. And during the lengthy Q&A, the Iron Man star was asked if he would return as Marvel's Armored Avenger in a fourth solo movie if his friend Mel Gibson were to claim the director's chair, to which Downey said yes. Well, considering many sites took his Mel Gibson campaigning seriously, the actor has since poked fun by tweeting that his friend has turned down the Iron Man 4 directing gig, and posting a video in which he reveals another unlikely candidate.
"It was an offhanded remark to a journalist and friend," Robert Downey Jr. said of the Gibson joke later during a Reddit Q&A. "I have other projects in mind for Mel and I - sooner than later the Marvel Roster will be made public and all questions will be answered." What do you think?
