CGI Pre-Visual Gun Fight Sequence For Judge DREDD Reboot

Uhg.... Hard to believe this comes out this year with the absolute lack of promotion. Dredd ain't so popular they can just say: "Oh yeah, here's a Judge Dredd movie, enjoy!" and expect to make money. I want Judge Dredd at Subway and BurgerKing NOW dammit!

Yes, the film is all live action - well, apart from some CGI bits here and there but it's a live action film.

Problem with Judge Dredd is that he's not anywhere near as popular outside of the UK as your well known Marvel or DC characters are. No amount of advertising is gonna change that or the fact that most comic characters that are non "Superhero" types or related simply don't hit the big bucks in box office let alone popularity.

Sure there has been exceptions to the rule, (no not Blade or its sequels, they all made way less than 100 million bucks at the box office) like 300 and Men in Black, but 300 was marketed as an R-rated sword flick and had great word of mouth from The prestigious Cannes Film festival behind it. While MIB had superstar Will Smith and marketed purely as a comedy.

Dredd has no A-list headline star involved at any level, no a-list director to headline either, it's R rated so it excludes a lot of the demographic that would be interested in paying to see it but aint old enough to and its being released in the Fall after everyones all movied out from the summer big guns. The biggest grossing film released during the Fall in the last 10 years was Puss in Boots last year with $149 million.. wow.. major league! Also its in 3D and people don't pay extra for 3D unless its a BIG movie they've been hyped up to see for a long time. Dredd aint that! And the rumor that the director has been removed from the editing process very much like what happened with the Stallone version to its director.

What it has got going for it though is a very small budget of $45 million so as long as they don't devote too much cash to marketing, they have an easier target to reach to make profits. Also if they have good merchandise to sell and it proves popular, they stand to make a bigger hit with those sales than the box office so the film can easily get a sequel.

Script is really good if anyone wants a copy i have it! It's a day in the life of Dredd as he trains his new rookie psi judge Anderson with the city rampant with crime he randomly chooses one of many distress calls only to end up trapped in a city block controlled by the cities most notorious and dangerous drug lords.Although filmed on a small budget it boasts the production team behind District 9 which was also filmed on a low budget but turned out fantastic. It was shown at Cannes to packed cinemas,has the blessing of it's creator and despite costume differences i'd say this one looks to be the only excitement left after the CB blockbuster season?

IT'S NOT A SUPERHERO FILM. IT WASN'T MADE FOR OR AND WILL NOT BE MARKETED TO THE LITTLE KIDS WHO LIKE MARVEL SUPERHEROES.

I don't think your post lists the difficulties facing DREDD, so much as it illustrates the power of the film industry's received wisdom to blinker people to facts they already know and things they should therefore understand.
