The pieces seem to be falling in place to get Karl Urban back as Judge Dredd one more time. Yesterday, the actor announced his on-going discussions to play the character again, and today Judge Dredd: Mega-City One producer, Jason Kingsley, confirmed that they've been talking to Urban.

Speaking with Screen Geek Kingsley said, “We have been in discussions with Karl about his possible involvement in Judge Dredd: Mega-City One for some time. These conversations continue but we’re keen, he’s keen,  it’s just a case of us making sure this show is everything we want it to be."

Kingsley then went on to talk about making sure they get the show right, and said they're currently laying out the plans for season one of the show. "This needs to be done right, the fans deserve it," He said. "Our team is working hard on scripts for the first season, creating engaging multi-thread storylines, one of which will be Dredd’s but others which take us into the wider world of Mega-City One.”

Urban first played Judge Dredd in the 2012 film, Dredd. The series was announced back in may, and it's been rumored that Netflix, Amazon and HBO are interested in producing the show. As of right now, there is no release date.

Source Material is your best friend. I hope this series takes as much as it can from the comics. Especially the visuals. I love the 80s retro futuristic tone of the early comics.

@BlackBeltJones - That was a bad example lol I've never read the books, but if they are as cheesy as what you posted...that's a good thing.

PS I did enjoy Urban's Dredd

This is all good news, but I hope it doesn't turn into a Judge Dredd show strictly. They have a huge expanded universe.
Karl Urban is a plus, but the poster they released already shows a different world than the one in Dredd. This one has flying cars apparently.

The last movie flopped so hard you would think this franchise should stay dead.

Very interesting in this Judge Dredd tv show. It'll line up well with the DC and Marvel CB shows if it is placed on the week at some point.

i'm down for this, sometimes a series works better than movie sequels, look at Terminator TSCC
