0:44 thru 0:48 - DREDD Snarl; Karl Urban's got it down.

I like the La Roux track on the soundtrack; 'going in for the kill' - seems apt.^^
Wonder if 'Bulletproof' will be in there as well.

Yes!!!!
So excited for this.
Been with Dredd since issue 2 of 2000ad since it started and I think finally we may have a film that does old Joe Justice :)

When Judge Dredd says "I am the law" and we see him fire the lawgiver gun - he's actually standing on the left side of the screen, not the right. The image we see in the trailers and this clip is a mirror image giving the false impression he's standing on the right. This sort of reverse imagery is done in trailers, not sure why!

@Dane: you know, doesn't need to be yanks in spandex for it to make sense.

But I would agree about Robocop if not for the fact that a remake would allow to properly restore the original (like they did with Total Recall), the restoration on blu ray available at the moment doesn't look that good.

@dreddhead123: mostly to make the trailer more dynamic, plus it avoids to spoil too much of the finished product.

Dredd certainly deserves another chance.
Why should it only be the Spidermans, Batmans, Captain Americas etc that are seemingly allowed to be rebooted time and again.
Judge Dredd has a fantastic 35 year pedigree to draw on, has always featured heavily in top comic titles and its mother magazine 2000ad was responsible for the discovery of many artists and writers that were poached by Marvel and DC...Alan Moore, Brian Bolland, Henry Flint, Simon Bisley, Dave Gibbons to name just a few.

@Dane
Not offended at all brother, I love a debate!!
I think the reason I am excited is that being British, Dredd is close to home (even though set in America!!!)
I love reading Marvel and DC but something homegrown feels more personal I guess.
The problem with Dredd is although the character is well received in the States, it isn't widely available and so most peoples introduction to the character was the god awful Stallone version and a lot of damage was done in the process.
Because of that, there was no way to do a mega budget film and I think they have gone the right way for a proper introduction to him.
I hope it does well and then the subsequent films can bring in more of the weirdness and black humour that makes Judge Dredd quite a unique character :)

What is the first song they play before the "in for the kill remix"? It had those inception like horns and i love that song! I'e been looking all day for an answer to it, no one knows! Dredd is gonna rock socks

Robocop and Total Recall remake are films i wouldnt have rebooted cause the originals were so [frick]ing awesome. But Judge Dredd definitely needed one. And like i said i really hope this is success. Hate to see another crappy Dredd film.

After several months of being on this site, I've realized these lyrics sum up Grif perfectly.

"I hate a lot of things
I hate a lot of people that are lame
I like to hate stuff
Cause then I don't have to try and make
A change
I hate teachers
I hate school
I hate the cheerleaders
And anyone who's cool
I hate the office
I hate the Quad
Don't wanna learn nothing
I want to be a slob

It's cool to hate
It's cool to hate
I don't like nothing and I like that fine
(Liking something's just a waste of time)
It's cool to hate
It's cool to hate
I don't like nothing and I like that fine
(Liking something's just a waste of time)
I don't like nothing and like that fine
(Liking something's just a waste of time)
Yeah I hate everything
I even hate you too
So [fluff] you

I'm always thinking bad
I never have nothing good to say
I'd rather tear things down
Than build them up
It's easier that way
I hate the jocks
And I hate the geeks
I hate the trendies
But I also hate the freaks
I hate Dr. Martens
And Muscle T's
I'm only happy when I'm in my misery
I'll cut you down and give you lip
Being positive's so unhip
I'll cut you down cause I'm a fool
Being positive's so uncool

I hate the jocks
And I hate the geeks
I hate the trendies
But I also hate the freaks
I hate your band
And I hate TV
I'm only happy when I'm in my misery"

A Paul Verhoeven Judge Dredd would have been fantastic it's a pity the budget for this movie is so low. Prolly because grown up comic book movies rarely do well apart from Nolans Bat flicks.

Robocop WAS Judge Dredd.
Ed Neumeier scripted the first aborted Dredd film then went onto Robocop.
The 'Your move creep' and 'dead or alive youre coming with me' are pure unadulterated Dreddisms and because of the US not receiving 2000ad, any Dredd film will by nature, be compared to Robocop.
Even Paul Verhoeven acknowledged the references including the fascist black humour

I am aware that Robocop was based on Dredd but a fully fledged Judge Dredd movie from Paul Verhoeven would have been fantastic, somehow I think this movie will be short on satire, something that Verhoeven can deliver in spades.

Its a a pity Robocop was good but the rest of the films where terrible. A Paul Verhoeven movie could have kicked off a terrific franchise. I hope this does well as Dredd has so much potential.
