Paul Dini, critcally acclaimed writer/producer of much loved shows such as Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, as well as monumental games Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman Batman: Arkham City, has been one of the many fan choices to pen the live action Justice League script. After reports claim that the Script By Will Beall Had Been Scrapped by WB Fans went with the direct method by taking to twitter and straight up asking Paul if he'd be interested in writing the JLA film. Unfortunately, this is what he had to say.

So the search for a Justice Leaugeue writer continues (if you believe the words of BadAss Digest). Lets all just hope that when, or if, someone finally gets chosen, it's someone who cares about these characters and not just a money howl. Paul Dini needs to write this movie! Either him or Geoff Johns!
THIS MOVIE HAS TO GET MADE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER!

I got nothing against Dini, but was he really up for the task ?
Fanboys dream. Wake up. Animation is not the real movie.

Bruce Timm should atleast produce this. I know animation is different than live action, but he's been on fire with animation, and I'd love him to transition to help with DCmovieverse.

At the end of the day WB will hire Johnatan Nolan or David Goyer to do that. Trust me on this.

not surprised.

irony:

when the greatest hope for justice league is the director that causes lil fanboy bitches to get their panties in a bunch... Nolan. wb should bribe that sexy english mother[frick]er to do it or get bale to kidnap his kids, whichever works. nobody else wants the gig.

Levitikuz

There a good chance that WB will hire Goyer for the job. I really doubt that MOS will bomb at the box office. They probably team him up with J.Nolan. Not my first choice but still ... It's better than go for c movie writer.

Sad....seems like no one wants this. In the right hands it could be amazing but I was thinking that bealls script of what everyone said it was comprised of sounded a lot like transformers 3 and the avengers mixed .... Doom was amazing and I think a storyline like that would work and be more unique

@Jazzman:

Why is it Geoff Johns gets flack for that BUT NOT STAN LEE whenever there's a bad Marvel movie that he was a producer for?

And don't give me that "Because's Stan Friggin Lee" bullcrap excuse.

Unless the movie will have a really good plot - it will end up as medicore.

No for Darkseid as the villain, no for alien invasion.

Just because something has already been done before doesn't mean it can't be done in a new, refreshing way.

There have been many stories and characters reinterpreted thousands of times and some of them do work.

The Avengers wasn't the first superhero team movie and it won't be the last.

THE AVENGERS was the first superhero crossover team movie where each character had a well established solo outing on their own before joining the team.

@SageMode- So what? Just because it has been done once doesn't mean it can't be done again.

Guys, they haven't said, and it seems like JLA will be its own movie, leading to solo films. Man of Steel's Superman will hopefully appear, but other the that it seems like it will be its own film leading to spin offs.

Are YOU stupid? My explanation was for comparison to the JL. Which makes it different from team movies like FF, X-Men, Red, and Watchmen and a little more difficult to do.

Nice try, Captain Sensitive. Lol

Levitikuz: speak for yourself bro. If Hulk, Cap, Thor, and Iron Man are b list characters, then what in the blazing blue hell is an A list character?

Well, to be fair, Thor is based on a god from Norse mythology, so alot of people knew who he was. Captain America is about as old as Batman and Superman even though his popularity faded after WWII. Iron Man was a C-list character until the movie came out and became as popular as Spider-Man.

However, I do agree with nobody outside of the geek community caring about Black Widow and Hawkeye. But once The Avengers came out and did wonders at the box office, it's safe to say that the general public knew who they were to an extent.

I like the DCAU, I really do, but are you guys seriously asking WB to get animation writers to pen a 250 million dollar movie?!!

Are you guys nuts!!! Wow, why not just dump 250 million dollars into the ocean because that would be a smarter use of that money.

The last time WB got a comic writer and some animation/TV writers to work on one of their movies we got Green Lantern! Give this shit to David Goyer and Duncan Jones already!
CavEl
CavEl - 2/8/2013, 7:29 PM

WB...this is your director! And David Goyer is your pen-man!!
Paragon79
Paragon79 - 2/8/2013, 7:29 PM
Iron Man is, and has been one of Marvels biggest heroes. Calling him a C list is just wrong.
CavEl
CavEl - 2/8/2013, 7:36 PM
@ Paragon - Iron Man was a D-Lister, IMHO. I only knew him from his crappy animated series, but I couldn't tell you what Iron Man's secret ID was if you asked me prior to 2008.

A founding member of The Avengers, who's had atleast one series that is on going about since he was created is a B, C, or D list character. Child please.
CavEl
CavEl - 2/8/2013, 7:45 PM
@ Paragon79 - Unless you followed Marvel comics, I doubt you knew who Iron Man is if you were born in the 90s. I think he made an appearance in Spider-Man the Animated Series, but I'm not sure.

Paragon79
Paragon79 - 2/8/2013, 7:52 PM
That's my point exactly. Just bcuz people who don't follow comics, and watch movies about them, only learn about the character from the movies, doesn't lower the characters standing in comics.
Paragon79
Paragon79 - 2/8/2013, 7:54 PM
By that logic, only characters that have graced the silver screen are A listers.
Paragon79
Paragon79 - 2/8/2013, 7:56 PM
Also, it's not just people that follow Marvel...I'm more of a DC fan, but I'm still aware of Marvel characters.
