If Warner Bros. Wants To Bring PLASTIC MAN To The Big Screen, A PARKS AND RECREATION Star Is Very Interested

Should WB seek to beat Marvel in the super-stretchy superhero department, actor Ben Schwartz has indicated that he's extremely interested in playing the reformed criminal turned superhero, Plastic Man.

A botched burglary left the safecracking Patrick "Eel" O'Brian shot and exposed to a mysterious chemical that gave him superhuman elasticity, shapeshifting and invulnerability. His powers would later lead to Batman recruiting him for the Justice League.

If Ben Affleck's Batman ever goes on another recruitment spree for the Justice League, would you like to see Plastic Man among one of the candidates? If so, actor Ben Schwartz is definitely throwing his hat into the ring to play the character. Best known for Parks and Recreation and House of Lies, Schwartz also has an extensive career as a voice actor, with roles in the Duck Tales reboot, Bojack Horseman, and Bob's Burgers.

Not much is known about the overall direction the DCEU is heading but WB could do far worse than the likes of Plastic Man.

Plas is hilarious. I wonder if WB has even time for him though with all of their projects “developing”.

If they do a Plastic Man and Elongated Man buddy cop film I would be down. If I never get to see Plas and TV Ralph interact of course. Funny thing is that the buddy cop-ish film is supposed to be Booster Gold & Blue Beetle and that has also been in “development” since 2016...

@NinnesMBC - I thought the buddy cop movie was supposed to be green lantern corps

@NathimusPrime - Yes that is the one that has been said to be the buddy cop but the team of Booster and Beetle are very much like that as well.

@NathimusPrime - The correct term for Green Lantern Corps was "Lethal Weapon in Space" .. which I'm 100% down for

Kevin Smith wanted to direct an animted movie, he has written a script but maybe Warner Brothers didn‘t like the script, a 2D animated movie would be awesome

This is what WB needs to do. Their big guns are tainted so it’s time to dig into the 3rd and 4th stringers. Shazam is a good start.

Maybe, or someone like Jay Baruchel, humour plus he's already kinda wirey.

I've been asking for a Plastic Man movie for years now, but I have patience. My only wish is that they take him seriously (not make the movie serious just take the source material seriously). Plastic Man is by far my favorite DC Character bar Superman and Martian Manhunter and he works best when he is bouncing of more serious characters. The Humor should really come from him, no silly villains over over the top characters.

Ben Schwartz is hilarious. Do yourself a favor, watch Funny or Die’s “The Earliest Show” if you want some good comedy.

WB should quit the entire CBM genre instead of announcing more CBM screw ups.

@billnye69 - First off, not gonna happen lol the DCEU isn’t going anywhere. Second, they didn’t announce anything, so chill lol

@Mattygrand - DC has already admitted their Extended Universe is dead by saying they are not doing that. Just DC stories that are separate.

Think we all know they will just do separate stories till they finally catch fire with a few then say the Extended Universe is back or call it another name.

@Talisac - For one thing, it was never officially called the Extended Universe. Fir another, no one has said the DC Films are all taking place in separate universes, and connecting them on the level of the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn't work as well in DC Films, because if Superman guest stars in Wonder Woman, they'll make short work of the villain, unless it's magic based. That's why crossovers are few and far between in the comics. There may be the occasional one off where different heroes guest star in each other's books, but usually it's for novelty or for a big event. So these heroes can still exist in the same universe and not have to crossover all the time. If they abandon the DC Films Cinematic Universe or if they set each character in their own universe, it won't be long before the whole thing falls apart.

@SisterSunday52 - Not really, if that is how you think with characters being in the same movie together, then you have little to no imagination. Hell Supes got his as whipped by a human with no powers. Pretty sure they can drum up some super power villains for a DCEU Justice League type movies. Also not sure where you're coming from with the separate universe statement? I never even came close to saying that.

And I know what DC said about their DCEU, I actually make that clear in my original post. You know as well as I do when Marvel did it successfully, DC tried to imitate/copy and it died so fast they didn't have time to make it official.

Defend it all you want, you know my is true and when they finally make good movies with these characters, they will make movies with them together and say it is the DCEU. Just wait...

@sharkman03191 - Kind of like my enthusiasm for Avengers Infinity War. That's not a dig on Marvel. I'm literally unphased by the fact that it's in theatres right now. Civil War disappointed me to no end, and while I hope that the Russo brothers will redeem themselves and Captain America, I worry Infinity War will be more of the same. It breaks my heart, because I was so excited when I first saw Thanos in the post-credit scene. Now I could care less. It makes me want to cry. :,(

@SisterSunday52 - "Now I could care less."

I think you meant "I couldn't care less". Not trying to be a dick, just letting you know. Like the word "literally", a lot of people use that expression the wrong way without realizing.

@Asturgis - Right. I couldn't care less. I knew that, but idk. Anyway, thanks for reminding me.
