Not an awful lot has been revealed about the plot of Justice League but we do know that the general idea is that Steppenwolf wants to combine three Mother Boxes in order to take over Earth. Those were separated centuries ago between man, Amazons, and Atlanteans, but when they all resurface in the DC Comics adaptation, the villain will arrive looking for a way to succeed where Darkseid failed.
In a new interview, Ben Affleck was asked to explain what exactly a Mother Box is and said, "A Mother Box is an all-powerful, indestructible, technological cube that can also teleport a bunch of aliens to Earth from another world." As for why Steppenwolf wants them, it turns out that the three need to be brought together to take over a planet and that process is reportedly known here as "the Unity."
"Once you combine the three Mother Boxes they form what's called the Unity," the actor reveals, "a force that is pure power used to conquer worlds. Fortunately, these things don't exist in real life, of course, but they're a part of the DC Universe, and a problem for the Justice League."
Affleck's future as the Caped Crusader isn't clear but when he was asked about where the Justice League franchise could go next, he did share some vague ideas! "Now the Justice League is together, we have these stories that we can finally tell without being encumbered with setting up the backstory. We've done all that, so now we get to enjoy the adventures of this group of heroes as they take on the world." What do you think of these remarks? As always, let us know down below.
