Zack Snyder recently announced plans for "Full Circle" theatrical screenings of his DC movies that will likely bring an end to his time being part of that world.
Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder's Justice League will no doubt continue to maintain their loyal fanbase, but the SnyderVerse arguably has no place in DC Studios' new DCU. There are those who think James Gunn and Peter Safran will allow the filmmaker to continue his vision in some form, but could that be as a comic book?
There have long been rumblings about Snyder finishing the story he was telling on the page. However, those plans appeared to fall apart shortly after the Snyder Cut was released on HBO Max in 2021.
During a recent interview with The Nerd Queens, Snyder admitted "I would really enjoy that if it was a possibility," adding: "There was a time when we were gonna do that, and then there was a sort of change of desire, I guess. We're doing a graphic novel for Rebel Moon, I think we're gonna do an animated short."
"We're gonna do a bunch of other things that are just insane, it's all in the works."
With Snyder busy expanding his Rebel Moon Universe - which is rumoured to also include a video game - it's hard to imagine him having time to return to the DC Universe in the near future. However, he'd go on to say, "These DC characters are dear to me. So who knows?"
Assuming the scripts for Justice League 2 and 3 are finished, they could be handed over to a writer to adapt for a comic book series, with Snyder having minimal involvement. Talking about this potential comic a couple of years ago, he suggested it would also be a Batman v Superman prequel revealing how Robin died.
Do you think this would be the best way to end the SnyderVerse or would a comic add further fuel to the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse fire?
