JUSTICE LEAGUE Director Zack Snyder Says Comic Book Continuation To Snyder Cut Is Off The Table...For Now

Justice League director Zack Snyder has again addressed the possibility of his sequels being adapted as a comic book, admitting that it's something he would love to be part of "if it was a possibility."

Zack Snyder recently announced plans for "Full Circle" theatrical screenings of his DC movies that will likely bring an end to his time being part of that world.

Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder's Justice League will no doubt continue to maintain their loyal fanbase, but the SnyderVerse arguably has no place in DC Studios' new DCU. There are those who think James Gunn and Peter Safran will allow the filmmaker to continue his vision in some form, but could that be as a comic book?

There have long been rumblings about Snyder finishing the story he was telling on the page. However, those plans appeared to fall apart shortly after the Snyder Cut was released on HBO Max in 2021.

During a recent interview with The Nerd Queens, Snyder admitted "I would really enjoy that if it was a possibility," adding: "There was a time when we were gonna do that, and then there was a sort of change of desire, I guess. We're doing a graphic novel for Rebel Moon, I think we're gonna do an animated short."

"We're gonna do a bunch of other things that are just insane, it's all in the works."

With Snyder busy expanding his Rebel Moon Universe - which is rumoured to also include a video game - it's hard to imagine him having time to return to the DC Universe in the near future. However, he'd go on to say, "These DC characters are dear to me. So who knows?"

Assuming the scripts for Justice League 2 and 3 are finished, they could be handed over to a writer to adapt for a comic book series, with Snyder having minimal involvement. Talking about this potential comic a couple of years ago, he suggested it would also be a Batman v Superman prequel revealing how Robin died.

Do you think this would be the best way to end the SnyderVerse or would a comic add further fuel to the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse fire?

Think a Knightmare comic limited series could still happen, but it's not necessary.

As for Rebel Moon, they sure trust Snyder. A graphic novel, maybe an animated series and a tie-in rpg game? That's a big gamble.

Glad he's doing his own Star Wars universe though. Still think he should've done that with superheroes as well. Then the edginess sure would've been less edgy.

@bkmeijer1 - I mean they let David Ayer do his weird lord of the rings fanfic, why not a macho slow-motion bargain bin star wars

@UncleHarm1 - fair I guess. Think bringing Tolkien-like lore in a modern day setting is more interesting than a Star Wars rip-off though.

@bkmeijer1 - Definitely more interesting. There's just the Max Landis of it all O_o

@UncleHarm1 - Max Landis? Not sure I'm caught up with what you mean by that

@bkmeijer1 - He wrote the script for Bright, and is generally considered to be a bad person. They say every time he makes a bad movie he gains a new color in his hair.

@UncleHarm1 - oh gotcha. Though you were putting Landis in relation to Rings of Power. But yeah, better keep him away

I think doing some kind of animation would be cool to wrap that up, but let's be fair it's over now.

I think this would be the best way to go. It wouldn’t take much money to do and gives fans closure. Seems like a win win to me. The most annoying thing about all of this is he almost certainly would have finished his run by now any way if he was left alone. I get many don’t like his style and that’s valid, but it’s not like DC has put out anything worthwhile aside from Aquaman and Shazam since 2016 so it was a waste to do the shakeup anyway. Here’s hoping Gunn’s DCU doesn’t have so much turbulence

That sucks. Was championing for that more than anything else in the live action Snyderverse.

I'm assuming it's just a matter of the character rights which is why he can't do it without approval. Otherwise I could even see him doing an animated or motion comic like he did with the Tales of the Black Freighter.

Honestly, I’m still hoping for them to do an animated film. I’m not a huge fan of Snyder’s role or films in the DCEU but it would be an interesting what-if and something good for the fans.

I'd buy it.

Let's face it, the supply will be bought up almost instantly by people with no idea how to collect comics so in like ten years the price of a first run gimmick book like this will skyrocket.

Could be fun. Then again I thought the Batman 89 comic was going to be fun and I can’t even finish it

Snyder cultists don't read comics so this is just a waste of money, time and effort.

All the 'verse' stuff is BS. If there's fifteen versions of everything, what's the point in watching/reading any of it? Your favorite character died? Don't worry, he's still alive in the redundance-verse! Guess what else? There's seven versions of him!! Isn't that great?!

It's so sad how he can't just say "it's over". It's sadder that his fans can't just admit it's over.

It's even sadder that people think DC owes this man anything
