Zack Snyder's Justice League was a dream come true for many DC fans, but the movie ends on a major cliffhanger and there's a very real desire to see the filmmaker's vision continue in some form.
Warner Bros. has made it clear that it has no interest in developing the two sequels Snyder originally had mapped out, but the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement is every bit as vocal as the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign.
With that in mind, things could change at the studio in the next few years, but we're certainly not banking on it. Neither is Snyder, as he explained during an appearance at Justice Con over the weekend.
"I'll just say this. It is a concept that I think shows reverence for the work. In that way, whatever it results in I have no idea. Most likely nothing," he confessed. "The reverence for the work is something I would never dismiss or in any way say I don't respect."
"Of course, I would give my entire effort to support," Snyder continued, hinting that he'd be willing to step behind the camera for any potential sequels. "If someone says to me no matter who that person is if they say to me 'I really loved that thing I wish you would make another one' I'm personally not a person who says 'forget it' because I think that is rude."
Snyder was clearly choosing his words carefully here, but no one could blame him for being optimistic about potentially finishing off his five-part "trilogy" given what a miracle the Snyder Cut's release was.
We'll have to wait and see if anything comes of this, but if Warner Bros. really wants to shut these fans up, it would be smart to make these sequels in comic book form or as one of those DC Animated features.
What do you guys think #RestoreTheSnyderVerse could lead to?
