JUSTICE LEAGUE Director Zack Snyder Sends Speculation Into Overdrive With Cryptic Darkseid Tease

Well, this came out of nowhere! Justice League director Zack Snyder has shared a cryptic "incoming transmission" featuring the voice of the villainous Darkseid. What could it mean? Take a look...

Justice League and Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder has taken to Twitter to share a cryptic video, and fans are convinced that it has something to do with the return of the "SnyderVerse."

To be fair, it's easy enough to see how people would jump to that conclusion!

The "incoming transmission" is only 15 seconds-long, but it features the ominous voice of Snyder Cut villain Darkseid as he tells listeners to "save the date" (28th, 29th and 30th of April).

This clearly has something to do with Snyder's DC Comics-based work, but could it really be teasing the filmmaker's return to the current DCU for new projects? It's one possibility, but there are several others, including the return of SnyderCon, and a theatrical release of his director's cut of Justice League.

Warner Bros. brass made it clear that the SnyderVerse was over after the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, but maybe the current management have been more receptive to the idea of some overlap?

DC Studios co-head James Gunn has previously confirmed that he's spoken to Snyder about the new DCU slate, so maybe they really have decided to collaborate? If so, expect Gunn to weigh in himself at some point, and we're sure Zack will share some more hints in due time.

What do you make of this video? Be sure to share your theories down below.

@mountainman - if Darkseid looks like ps2 graphics then Marvel is ps1

@mountainman - the vfx in ZSJL is actually pretty damn solid and a [frick] ton better than what Marvel is putting out lmao
TheLobster

@Matchesz - that’s being kind too lolol

@Matchesz - Oof.

I’d be the first person to point out the recent CGI problems with Marvel, but that comparison didn’t land at all. Besides MODOK and some She Hulk scenes, there haven’t been any Marvel CHI characters that looked worse than Darkseid.

Hit me back when DC produces something on the level of Thanos.

@TheLobster - Overall i think Snyder has a good visual style and the movie did look good overall. But Darkseid looked like trash.

@mountainman - yeah, I’m sure these guys who are actual VFX professionals and top in their field that praised the work in ZSJL don’t know what they’re talking about at all

@mountainman - Well, Thanos only looked incredible in the last two Avengers movie. And they spent like 700 million on these. Before that he looked even worse than Darkside.

TheLobster

@mountainman - I can’t agree ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The scene when Darkseid jumps down and digs his hands into the dirt? Pretty incredible work given the circumstance and being entirely vfx.

@Spawnnn - that looks like a 90’s power rangers tv villain of the week
BuzzKillington

@Spawnnn -

That looks better than any Darkseid scene in JL.

@Spawnnn - There was a 9 year difference between that shot of Thanos and Darkseid in ZSJL lol. I should hope the CGI in ZSJL was better after an entire decade.

@Spawnnn - That Thanos was practical Make Up FX with CGI enhancement
TheLobster
TheLobster - 3/15/2023, 10:24 AM
@BuzzKillington - lol no it does not - you just want to hate on Snyder which is fine but it is delusional none the less..

Unless you actually think the CW makes good content which if so - then this all makes a whole lot more sense
mountainman
mountainman - 3/15/2023, 10:31 AM
@TheLobster - To each their own I guess. I always figured that first appearance of Thanos was just a guy in makeup not CGI, but I still think it looked better than dark and murky Darkseid that had too little detail and contrast.

@mountainman - Hi. This is nobody here. I would like to see that in the theaters but I don’t want Snyder back to make new movie for the DCU.

@mountainman - regardless of if you like it or not, clearly people do want to see it

lol it does.

@Twenty23Three - A vocal minority does yeah. The declining box office takes of the Snyder DCEU shows that most people don’t.
