JUSTICE LEAGUE's "Return Of Superman" Deleted Scene Will Be Less Than Two Minutes In Length

It was recently revealed that the Justice League Blu-ray will feature an additional scene in the form of "The Return of Superman." However, don't expect that to add an awful lot to the DC Comics movie...

Fans have been hoping for months that the Justice League Blu-ray will feature a plethora of deleted scenes or some sort of extended cut but it was recently made clear that that's not the case. We did, however, learn that a scene not seen in theaters will be added in the form of "The Return of Superman." However, the running time for that has now been revealed and it could disappoint.

The sequence will run for approximately 1 minute, 52 seconds and that doesn't leave much time for us to see that long list of Superman scenes Zack Snyder shot which ultimately ended up being scrapped.

While the hope was that we might see the Man of Steel's apparent meeting with Alfred, it seems far more likely that it will simply revolve around the hero retrieving his suit and then
deciding to assist in the fight against Steppenwolf. That's cool but also a tad underwhelming because there are so many deleted scenes from Justice League it now appears we're never actually going to see for ourselves.

I never minded the movie being only 2hrs. All films should be between 80-120 mins but fix the cgi.

Dont need a longer version of a mediocre film. Everyone had "ok" development except Cyborg. None of the other JL members need anymore screen time.

I would have have taken out some useless runtime:

1.lois lane meets martha for coffee
2.useless music video intro
3.flash meeting his dad in prison
4.trim aquaman scenes
5.WW bank heist
6.Random scenes of a random family hiding from parademons

And add all cyborg's scenes back. None of those scenes are vital and adds nothing to the JL Plot. All are useless character dev because they are going to be redone and explored in their own solo movies.

@mastakilla39 - The Empire Strikes Back! Lord of the Rings! You would make those shorter? 😲

@mastakilla39 - I dunno, it's hard to say given the fact that WB literally changed the endgame midstream. So for example, the WW bank heist scene is less important in the final mashup we got, but (imo) not only was it was one of the stronger scenes in the movie, but it was tonally and character-wise more important in the context of Snyder's version would have been. Ditto the Aquaman scenes... less important in the Whedon version, but would have been more important with the Snyder ending.

I never saw Justice League because like many people I wan't happy with the direction Snyder was taking the characters, especially Superman. Having the hopeful Superman at the back end of a Justice League movie isn't right, and hopefully if he does make an appearance in Shazam the 'S' will finally truly stand for hope.

@SupermansTrunks - That doesn't make any sense. So you want the iconic Superman, but once we got it in JL, you don't believe it should be there?

@Kevwebsz - WB needs to stay away from art and the artists. their only control needs to be the hiring process and when they make a deal, they need to honor it. zack snyder was ripped off and so were we and it's wb's fault. because they listened to disney fans that want a happy ending. well, the bad guy has to lose for a happy ending and what are you left with? good guys fighting good guys. we'll never have another empire strikes back. we never even got to see snoke and luke in the same place. hearing luke say "if you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." it was some lame attempt. "Strike me down in anger and I'll always be with you." gross.
studios ruin art and we pay them billions of dollars to do it.

@tunasmelt - All DC Films have had a happy ending. Superman achieved his boyhood goal of using his abilities to help others at the end of Man of Steel. Superman found hope again after losing it, and he gave his life to preserve that hope for others, giving Batman and Wonder Woman reason to hope again. Wonder Woman saw the darkest aspects of mankind, and even gave into them for a few minutes, but she found reason to protect mankind and she came back a hundred years later. Justice League was meant to have a happy ending too. The problem was that they took out the hard struggle to achieve that happy ending.

@SisterSunday52 - Agreed. The hard struggle was to last beyond JL1 and get resolved (happy ending) in JL2. WB suits didn't want to risk it. But I think they should have taken the short term hit in order to further refine their final mashed up product. They should have at least waited until there was no need to CGI Superman's upper lip.

Heh, figured as much...
Still, i'd rather see more of Superman than anyone else...

Although it would be hilarious if it's a Whedon scene with shitty CG ahaha oh god no! :P

@TheBlueMorpho - And to say i enjoyed a bit of the character interaction, is just that.....just how?how? how could they just do that to the JL and on their first cinematic extravaganza exposition?. The League deserves better man, specially superman i understand money, but you can approach this characters with the love and passion they deserve AND STILL MAKE TONS OF MONEY.

Anyway i still hate BvS more than JL tho,at least i have WW2 to look forward and i trust Wan to make Atlantis look good.

As someone who enjoyed JL I'm still in awe just how badly they messed up the DCEU project as a whole.
