This is now definitely confirming Warner Bros' plans about the Justice League movie. Hero Complex is reporting that studio is indeed moving forward, as the script for the film is in the works. Also many thought what would happen with Batman after The Dark Knight Rises. Well, it looks like they will reinvent the character, with Christopher Nolan producing.

But Robinov said a new Justice League script is in the works. Also being written for Warner are scripts featuring the Flash and Wonder Woman, who could be spun off into their own movies after Justice League. Though Wonder Woman is also in the works as a television pilot for NBC produced by Warner, Robinov dismissed that as a sticking point. "Wonder Woman could be a film as well, the same way that ‘Superman Returns’ came out while ‘Smallville’ was on."

Batman will continue to be a centerpiece property beyond next year’s 'The Dark Knight Rises' and Nolan’s departure from the franchise. "We have the third Batman, but then we’ll have to reinvent Batman." Asked whether that meant he wanted to reinvent or possibly even reboot the character, Robinov answered assertively: "I do. Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is."

As of now, The Dark Knight Rises is set to hit theatres on July 20, 2012!

I've been telling people that even if if Diane Nelson and Geoff Johns kept saying that there is no Justice League, they aren't the ones to decide, that it was always Jeff Robinov's decision.

Yes, to more Batman movies and to Wonder Woman movies.

Ok If it is in the works it wont happen till 2015

btw isn't it this guys first day on the job. I would work on trying to promote GL and WW a bit better first before planning a Justice League movie

Wait...if Nolan and Thomas are producing Justice League, why should Batman be reinvented? If that means they'll have someone else do it that is.

the only bad news is that according to Robinov The Flash and Wonder Woman movies will come out after Justice League. I would have preferred that they come out before.

i would still preefer them to realise flash and green lantern 2 in 2013. befor justice leaugue in 2014.
and just imagen:christian bale,ryan reynolds,henry cavill,flash guy...
it would be even more epic then the avengers cast...

There's absolutely no need to reinvent the character after Batman Begins. They need to further develop the characters now, that's all.

@PaulRom
Noaln and Thomas are producing the next Batman movie, not the Justice League Movie.

Okay this article seems to working off the previous article from LA Times which assumed there would be a Justice League movie not Robinov himself and in the above article it is the same situation which makes think it is speculation and assumption there is a Justice League movie not any confirmation. I wish there was audio to clear it up and what he said.

The news I think is more solid is him saying that just because Wonder Woman has a show does not mean she could not have a movie.

@charbelelnasr Hm...didn't see that. The article made it sound like they were producing the JLA movie. My bad.

Nice to know Nolan will be involved with the Batman franchise in some capacity after TDKR. At least that means we won't get another Batman and Robin. So the batman reboots happening after justice league or what.

kurekurcubic - 3/29/2011, 8:52 AM
well seeing how nolan and thomas are involved with superman,i think they will be heavily involved with justice league also.especially if it means bringing bale back for batman!!!

i'm fine with a new actor for Batman. truthfully Bale hasn't really been the main draw in either movie. his portayal of Batman sucks, throat cancer voice and he hasn't really made himself a memorable Batman, he is just another in the line of guys that played him. Just another in the Clooney and Kilmer line. also as Bruce Wayne he hasn't gotten that done well either.

the last actor to pull off both roles convincingly was Michael Keaton, the main guy who didn't physically look right for the role.

From a business stand point, they HAD to do this. JLA is a FAR more popular product than the Avengers, but Marvel was KILLING DC. They HAD to act.

And you have to reinvent SOME elements of TDK to pull it off. You can keep the character the same, but you have to remove the gritty realism of his environment.

IMO, there's no need for a reboot of Batman, smh just recast if needed but keep the tone/atmosphere while adding the fantasy element slowly but surely..

honestly this is great news! although i love nolan's take on batman i'd love it to have a new franchise that can depart from nolan's reality... also the JL film is cool but they need to do WW and flash solo films then JL also i'm guessing the new superman film will be a part of JL as well as GL?
Supersonicboobs
Supersonicboobs - 3/29/2011, 9:05 AM
don't reboot batman...it'll suck.
secondly you have Superman who by himself could save the planet/solar system, why need super friends!

justice league will mess up Nolans batman and his story on the rebooted superman. what about aqua-man? as far as i see justice league may work if it "does not" have batman or superman!!

lesser super characters need to have their own movies first, but they'll have to explain the "WHY" there are so much super-heroes coming out at one time to save the planet and what is with the fancy costumes and how did they keep hiding from a dumb society...what about the United nations and the World's military! can colorful heroes they fit into modern society?.......i think not!!!!

Justice league will probably suck, unless it is "Clearly" established that it belongs to a different Universe than synder nolan goyer superman/ Nolan-verse!
too much cooks in the kitchen!

I think that they should reinvent Batman but use Adrianne Palicki in the tv show, if it is good as The Wonder Woman in the movie.

Awesome!!! I wonder if Cavill can remain as Superman or they'll choose a new actor too? Or how about Reynolds as GL?

Hmmmm...and I wonder who the villain will be?

I vote- DARKSEID!!!!

But of course as we all know, WB will eventually dump this film idea because they are lame. JLA HAS TO HAPPEN DAMMIT WB!!!
ManThing
ManThing - 3/29/2011, 9:10 AM
huh. Well good. Good deal.

I am of the school of thought which is that they don't necessarily have to have stand alone movies for every character before they have the JLA movie.

It could certainly help to popularize some of the less known characters, but it's not absolutely necessary.

DBeck - 3/29/2011, 9:11 AM
@ kurekurcubic...flash guy. Oh yea, he is definitely bigger than RDJ or Samuel L. Jackson. While a Justice league movie would be great, you haven't even seen Reynolds, or cavill. Saying that cast plus "flash guy" would be more epic than the Avengers cast is just stupid.

Nice one Wolvie, I'm shocked this is a reality! I was suer that reporter must have misquoted Robinov. Anyway, great news although it's a shame they might have to reboot Batman again. Surely without Nolan they could just keep going with Bale in the role?

please no more batman movies,we've had seven between 1989 & 2012.

i'm bored of batman.

justice league would be cool, but i do want some character movies before i.e flash, wonder woman & maybe aquaman.

I'm REALLY happy about the JLA movie.

Of all the Batman movies, I've liked Nolan's movies the most, but I'm just fine with rebooting Batman, especially since TDKR will be a finale, and so the character could be used for JLA.

This news has really made my day.
LadiesmanStan
LadiesmanStan - 3/29/2011, 9:22 AM
badly written article. first, in order to have a jl movie by 2012, you'd have to reboot GL, Batman, and Supes since it has already been stated that these movies exists in only in their own universe. next, it is mentioned that they are starting to script on flash and ww, when in fact michael green and marc guggenheim have already talked about their Flash script. Lastly, it is clear that the writer is confused with the line "I do. Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is.". This is clearly regarding TDKR. This is what happens when you interject personal interpretations and avoid fact checkers in journalism. tsk tsk

One way to tell if this is really in the works is to find out how many movies they all sign on for if they are serious about it they will sign them all for many movies like marvel and that may mean Bale would be too expensive so he may need a reboot .

i'm kind of surprised that Nolan is going to finish his Batman series, then turn around and produce a whole version of the character. seems weird to me.

No JLA Movie please. I would rather see a Flash Movie, A Secret Six movie, a Teen Titans movie, and a Aquaman movie.

Great. So what, does Nolan have his hooks in Batman for all eternity now? You can forget about JLA if that's the case.
