With Justice League "Snyder cut" on the horizon many people believe that the theatrical version was a Joss Whedon creation, if it was should it be considered his greatest achievement?
After the death of Zack Snyder's child he sadly had to walk away from a movie he nearly finished and the studio brought in none other then Joss Whedon to finish reshoots. The studio told him to inject humor and cut the movie down to 2 hrs and gave him 25 million to do this task. According to many he somehow created nearly a full movie on a $25 million budget. This to me seems a bit fishy. I'am by no means claiming Whedon didn't reshoot a good deal of scenes but this should come as no surprise when the studio forced him to cut the movie down to 2 hrs which undoubtedly had to have scenes reworked to fit the narrative. I personally don't see how it's possible to shoot a movie add the appropriate CGI in a few months of reshoots all on $25 million. To put that in perspective Zack Snyder received 3 times as much (75 million) to add a pesky 5 minutes to his 4 hrs cut.
Don't get me wrong I'm excited about the Snydercut but the idea that the one we got in 2017 was a Whedon movie I doubt seeing what kinda budget and restraints he was working with.
