Yesterday, Justice League and Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder shared a cryptic video featuring the voice of Darkseid, sending speculation into overdrive in the process.

Some had hoped that this might be teasing some kind of SnyderVerse revival, but the filmmaker has all-but confirmed his plans with a new Vero post.

The incoming transmission told us to "save the date" (28th, 29th and 30th of April), and this shot of Henry Cavill's Superman also lists Snyder's DCEU movies, Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and ZSJL.

We're going to assume these films will be returning to theatres for a limited run on those three dates next month.

Some fans still seem to be holding out hope that this signifies new DCU projects on the horizon, but at this point, it really is time to let go of the SnyderVerse for good.

Warner Bros. brass made it clear that they had no interest in revisiting Snyder's movies after the release of his JL director's cut, and even though DC Studios co-head James Gunn has previously confirmed that he's spoken to Snyder about the new DCU slate, it clearly had nothing to do with some sort of future collaboration.

Will you be checking these films out in theaters? Drop us a comment down below.

Yup. Sounds like a limited theatrical movie marathon.

@santoanderson - honestly it could mean anything. Maybe Snyder is working with cavill on something with his Netflix projects.

@Origame - nope, 3 movies, 3 days, just a limited release in a few partnering theaters.

It's a nice way to give a send off to his (rushed out) trilogy.

As for Cavill and Snyder working together again some days, nobody would be against that of course.

Snyder fans a crazy loyal, emphasis on crazy. And all he has to do is feed them leftovers.

Well there you go. All the Snyderverse fans can go see these movies in theaters again. I’m much happier with this outcome than any attempts at new movies in this universe.

@mountainman - agreed. unless they somehow turn it into some moronic online campaign that we don't stop hearing about for the next decade.

@Termin8r - At this point, WB would be smart to just finish this story in Animated or comic format. It would give the fans the closure they want, while they can move their live action universe on.
Termin8r
Termin8r - 3/16/2023, 12:34 PM
@mountainman - I can see that. I think a comic book format would be better. Might work better for Snyder's disjointed storytelling.
mountainman
mountainman - 3/16/2023, 12:54 PM
@Termin8r - They could do that too. I mean they did comics in the Injustice universe to expand that world. I just think the fans of the Snyderverse need something to close out that story. The advantage of comics is they could technically keep going and telling stories in that world for those that want them.

@mountainman - yeah, i guess so. but it looks to me like WB has been bending over backwards making content for an audience that wasn't big enough to make these movies profitable. Maybe an animated binky is what they need.
mountainman
mountainman - 3/16/2023, 1:27 PM
@Termin8r - 100%. The theatrical releases have to appeal to the general audience to justify the money investment, but animated or print projects are much cheaper to produce and could work with a smaller audience.

@mountainman - true. i could also see snyder maybe being a better storyteller with animation. Could be wrong. Very much looking forward to the new DCU.

@Termin8r - Snyder had a big vision for sure and he produces movies that have a cool visual style. I loved some parts of all three of his movies and I agree that an animated Justice League part 2 with Darkside’s invasion of Earth then part 3 in the Nightmare world could be interesting.

That being said, the DCU Gods and Monsters announcement sounded interesting and I’m cautiously anticipating it too!

@mountainman - i liked some parts of his movies. i just couldn't get behind his version of superman or batman one bit. I tried so hard to like them.

Gunn looking to Batman TAS and the JLA series gives me so much hope. Finally a Batman with the family. A Green Lantern show with the right Lanterns headlining. lesser known characters like Booster Gold getting a shot. Couldn't be happier.

@Termin8r - I also appreciate the balance between the justice league members and lesser knowns. Having more comic-accurate takes on Superman, Batman and Green Lantern should be fun.

@mountainman - huge Green Lantern fan. thought that movie tainted the brand forever. looking for some redemption.

3 days, one for each of his movies. It's definitely going to be some limited theatrical release, likely to build up hype for the Flash.
