When rumblings of a huge cameo in Zack Snyder's Justice League started doing the rounds, there was a lot of speculation that Ryan Reynolds might have filmed a little something as Green Lantern.
It would have been pretty cool, but the actor was quick to debunk those claims on social media (we'd later learn that the cameo was, in fact, Harry Lennix's Martian Manhunter).
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Snyder confirmed that he did indeed have some ideas for how he would have included Reynolds in the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League.
"There was another idea I had for the Green Lantern that wasn't Ryan, and so I thought that if we had gone down this path of Green Lantern, I would have had to have Ryan as the additional Lantern," the filmmaker confirms. "Filling out the Lantern Corps a little bit more than say just one Green Lantern."
It's not clear what the other idea Snyder had for his Green Lantern was, but we can probably assume he hoped to use John Stewart or Kyle Rayner. Unfortunately, that just wasn't meant to be.
