The Russo brothers have given us a huge banquet of quality films with Marvel.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier grabbed our attention, while
Captain America: Civil War changed everything. Then here comes their most recent project
Avengers: Infinity War, which shook the ground like a catastrophic earthquake. So it's safe to say Anthony and Joe Russo has done their fair share of awesomeness in the MCU. However, the ride isn't over yet, as we still have Avengers 4 (which still hasn't gotten an official title yet) to come.
According to
Deadline, Joe Russo has this to say...
"You know, we’re very proud of it. I think ultimately Avengers 4 may be our best work for Marvel," Russo said. "I think we’ve grown with every movie that we’ve made there. We’ve grown with the characters. We’ve grown with the cast. As filmmakers we’re very happy and very excited with the movie."
That's definitely reassuring, to say the least. Infinity War set the bar so high, so just imagine the lines Avengers 4 will cross in order to surpass its predecessor. He also continued to say this...
"I feel like with Avengers 4, because it was made before there was any response to Avengers 3, it’s really pure in that regard. The storytelling is very pure. It’s without any sort of external noise creeping in at."
Even though Infinity War had great praise, it also had a couple criticisms. For instance, some felt the deaths at the end will be meaningless, considering they will most likely come back later on. Even on that note, the Russos are confident they have the perfect story in store for us. And considering their track record, we should have that same confidence in them.
Avengers 4 will drop into theaters, May 3rd, 2019.
