The Cosmic Circus is reporting that Jona Xiao has landed a "lead female" role in an "NDA Marvel Project" that's currently in the works for Disney+. The information comes from her resume on Actors Access, and this certainly seems to suggest she'll be a huge part of whatever this mystery project is.

With so many TV shows and Special Presentations either confirmed or rumoured to be on the way, your guess is as good as ours when it comes to who Xiao is playing or even which story she'll take centre stage in.

We have a feeling you'll recognise the actress, anyway, as she showed up as Rainbow Raider 2.0, a.k.a. Carrie Bates, in The Flash season 7. The actress made for a memorable rogue in The CW series, and counts the likes of Gifted, Hightown, and S.W.A.T. among her other acting credits.

Xiao also has voice acting experience after playing a young Namaari in Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon, so it's possible she's been enlisted for one of Marvel Studios' animated projects.

Interestingly, the actress already has some history with the MCU.

She was cast in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, and despite that being reported on by the trades, Xiao was nowhere to be found in the finished product despite speculation she might be playing Cindy Moon, a.k.a. Silk. We've since heard that her character was called "Gina," so chances are she was playing another high school student rather than a major comic book hero!

As for this mystery role, there are plenty of possibilities, especially with the likes of Wonder Man, Nova, and Daredevil: Born Again all thought to be in the process of putting their respective casts together.

We'll be keeping a close eye on this story, and hope to have more to share with you soon. In the meantime, feel free to weigh in with your guesses in the comments section!
