Given The Chance To Change One Thing In The MCU, Mastermind Kevin Fiege Would Fix... Thor’s Eyebrows?

The MCU is one of the most popular cinematic franchises of all time, but despite this, studio head Kevin Feige still has some regrets. One of 'em being the God of Thunder's eyebrows. Check it out...

Never let it be said that we don't cover the important stories here on ComicBookMovie.com!

As Avengers: Infinity War debuts in theatres this week as the culmination of the last 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, studio head Kevin Feige has been reflecting on the road to get here. The MCU has a decade long series of layered stories, different tones and varying quality but of all the creative decisions made by the studio, Feige regrets a very surprising one.

Speaking to Uproxx the mastermind revealed:

"I'll tell you one specific example I just thought of today and I laugh at it. Definitively, the one thing I would definitely do differently if I had to do it over again, is we would not have dyed Chris Hemsworth's eyebrows blond in the first Thor. Because we were like, Thor is blond! He has to be blond! And Hemsworth was great and awesome and pulled it off, but there are a couple of shots I watch and I'm like, oh my God, that poor guy, we made him freaking dye his eyebrows! That's ridiculous! And I can laugh about it now because Hemsworth is Thor and he doesn't need long hair, or a cape, or a hammer, or two eyeballs to be Thor."

It would be interesting to see if fans have similar feelings regarding Hemsworth in the first Thor film, though I'm sure if they were to linger on any part of the actor in that film, it wouldn't be his eyebrows. It's certainly interesting how the creative mind works though that this was the example Feige instinctively went to,  and not say, Thor: The Dark World.

What do you think? Were Hemsworth's eyebrows a problem for you? If you could change one thing in the MCU what would it be? Leave your thoughts below.

Without the intense level of commitment to creating a character with the visual appearance from the comics, the MCU would not have gotten to the stage where altering Thor's design worked.

Regardless, i'm sure that Fiege would change a lot and have reworked a lot of aspects to improve the story, now that he see's how it worked as a whole. Though you cannot really come out and admit you'd re-do several of the previous entries to the series can you? :P

I did actually notice that a couple times when I rewatched it this past week, especially the scene where he’s imprisoned and Loki comes to tell him that Odin is dead.

It's bothered me since 2011.

Literally the only thing wrong with the entire cinematic universe.

and yet they dyed Scarlett's eyebrows in Infinity War...

@Polaris - It's possible she did that herself

If I had never read this article I don’t think I’d ever realise that he had dyed his eyebrows.

@Spock0Clock - His eyebrows always stood out for me in that scene forever! LOL.

@Spock0Clock - now that it’s pointed out to me, it is badly obvious isn’t it? I just never really paid that much attention to the first Thor movie.

A good choice by Feige. Although hiring Ed Norton may have been quite high up the list too.

Am I in the minority who wishes they kept dying his eyebrows? He looked so much more like 616 Thor in that movie than any of the others because of it.

@Venomous48 - I agree, I actually liked his blonde beard & eyebrows, but I get why they didn't continue doing that.

Lol. I noticed it in the theater first time I seen it. Always wondered who thought that looked good.

Funny thing is that he traditionally had black eyebrows in the comic-book.

Eyebrows don't seem too far to me.

Real question we're all plagued with for years: did the carpet match the drapes?
