John Arturo - When did you start collecting and how did you get into the hobby?

MarvelChile - In 1981, when I was still a child. My father gave me a Spiderman Mego. From that moment on, Marvel superheroes became my favorites.

John Arturo - You have a pretty diverse collection, but you do have lots of Marvel stuff. What draws you to Marvel?

MarvelChile - That Spiderman toy was the beginning of everything. Near my house there was a toy store called Otto Kraus. I remember that once I ran away from home just to see more Marvel stuff in that store. I wandered alone many hours until my parents found me. On the way home, my father bought me a lot of comics and coincidentally they were all Marvel. It was love at first sight and I was only 3 years old.

John Arturo - Do you collect anything else?

MarvelChile - Besides Marvel stuff,I collect vintage toys just for remembering the good old days, like Transformers G1, Master of the Universe, Thundercats, and also some movie characters like Jason, Big Lebowksy and Toy Story.

John Arturo - What are your favorite collectible companies?

MarvelChile - Toy Biz's Marvel Legends and Hot Toys.

John Arturo - What is your favorite part of collecting?

MarvelChile - I enjoy looking for toys in flea markets, toy stores and the internet, in sites like ebay, for example. I love seeing how my personal collection has been growing over the time. I also enjoy looking at my collection at home.

John Arturo - What is the key thing you look for in an item you want to add to your collection?

MarvelChile - Good conditions, basically; I mean if they are new and packaged, then they’re just perfect. But it is really difficult to find them like that (in my country), and classic toys are also really difficult to find.

John Arturo - What does your significant other think of your collection?

MarvelChile - My wife is my number one fan, she has given me some figures as birthdays presents; and also for Christmas and anniversaries.

John Arturo - What is your favorite movie?

MarvelChile - Even though I haven’t watched it yet, I think it will be The Avengers, hahaha.

John Arturo - What is your favorite piece from your collection?

MarvelChile - The Kotobuyika's Infinity Gauntlet statue, because it was what my wife gave me as a present for one of our anniversaries. My statue is the number 1096 of 1500 around the world.

John Arturo - What are some items you are most looking forward to adding to your collection?

MarvelChile - More Marvel Legends and Hot Toys. I was born far away from USA, and in Chile -my country- the figures are hard to find and very expensive.

John Arturo - Finally, what is your favorite aspect of ComicBookMovie.com?

MarvelChile - The fact that I get to know things related to movies and comics in advance. Plus, I can interact with other members of the community, and they’re a lot of fun to talk to.

John Arturo - Anything else you want to add?

MarvelChile - Yeah, sure. I can tell you my dream… I wish I could go to a Comic Convention, I’d love to meet Stan Lee.

If you have a collection (don't worry about the size, it could be 4-5 items and that is still a collection right?) and want me to showcase it on the site, then shoot me an email by clicking the "Contact Me" link here. I will shoot you a few questions to answer to go along with the images and once a week we will showcase a users collection on here.

@Barnebeejones - Would you really wanna look at pics of books? U can google those, I think most people here (Myself included) have tons and tons of comics, why would u wanna see random issues, showcase graded stuff, signed issues, or rare or old comics but just showing boxes of comics would be boring.

That aside, I like the display, if I can ask where did you get the stands to elevate some of ur figures, I saw Surfer on one, etc

@miggz Some of those figures are incredibly rare. Not that you'd know, obviously! I think, considering that he lives in Chile that is a fantastic collection. Well done, MarvelChile!
