PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES Gets New Release Date

A few days after they announced the release dates for five upcoming Marvel movies, Walt Disney Studios has announced the release date for the next installment in another billion dollar franchise, the Johnny Depp-led Pirates of the Caribbean 5. The fifth film in the hugely successful franchise will be released July 7, 2017.

Last May, it was announced that Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg would direct the film and last August, the film's full title was revealed to be Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and star Johnny Depp, who plays Jack Sparrow, are both set to return. Initially, Bruckheimer had hoped the film would be able to make it to summer 2016, but due to script issues and contract negotiations, it looks like 2017 was their best option.

Its release will be sandwiched between Despicable Me 3 (June 30) and Fantastic Four 2 (July 14).
It joins a year that will also see Wolverine 3 (March 3), The Lego Movie 2 (May 26), and three yet-to-be announced Marvel films (May 5, July 28, November 3) hit theaters.

Are you guys excited to set sail with Jack Sparrow & the Black Pearl once again? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Cool. I loved the first, second and third were entertaining but convoluted cluster-[frick]s (Performances such as Bill Nighy stand out, however), the fourth was trash. Interested to see where they take this.

Pirates #1 is one of those rare, carefree and fun movies that's great to watch.
Pirates #2 got too serious but was good.
Pirates #3 was unbearable to watch.
Pirates #4 I don't know because I can't watch more than the 1st 30 minutes.

I loved the first 3 ones (even the third. It's not so great as the first two, but I like it). The fourth was bad. But ok, I would like to see another.

@BigMikeReviews That is what I mean, Disney loves money too much to ever let Pirates die off. They are going to continue to run this franchise into the ground.

Hahahahaha. I did a Miley:

Fun fact: this started off as a drawing of Mr. Buzzcut from Beavis And Butt-head, but I decided to make it a Miley 'cause I figured the resemblance was already there.

Loved the original trilogy. Fantastic, entertaining movies. 4th one sucked... Penelope Cruz was terrible, and Black Beard was boring as hell.

Gimme something good, and I'll be thrilled.
