Well I must say, that looks bloody awful. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is bringing the animated entry into the series this summer with series stars Casper Van Dien and Ed Neumeier producing.

A distant Federation outpost Fort Casey comes under attack by bugs. The team on the fast attack ship Alesia is assigned to help the Starship John A. Warden stationed in Fort Casey evacuate along with the survivors and bring military intelligence safely back to Earth. Carl Jenkins, now ministry of Paranormal Warfare, takes the starship on a clandestine mission before its rendezvous with the Alesia and goes missing in the nebula. Now, the battle-hardened troopers are charged with a rescue mission that may lead to a much more sinister consequence than they ever could have imagined....

This plays like a Resident Evil cutscene. Not a compliment.

LOL, well what did you expect with Casper Van Dien Producing. He wasn't exactly an oscar winning actor. I will say though I really liked the first one.

That looks awful!! - why don't they have the guts just to reboot and give us a faithful version on the book, with the power armour!

The animated show Roughnecks had far superior animation

"Do me a favour, don't die." Wow cliche or what, they have ruined this series.

At lesat they're keeping the incredible soundtrack by Basil Poledouris. You can play "Klendathu Drop" with any first person video game, and it will make it sooooo much better.

This website needs an obituary section for this series.

@Intruder

That is one of the best scenes in the movie. Second place goes to the brain bug scene.

I'd be interested in a Gears of War-style video game based on this franchise. The first movie is excellently awful, love it.

I say they reboot with new writers, a new director, but Basil's same score. They could also make if follow the novel a bit more closely.

This is a direct sequel to the original and ignores the last 2...it also features Neil Patrick Harris reprising his role from the original.

And yes, it's going to suck big time.

I don't think it's a reboot guys, has anyone of you read the book?

@ thalidomide
Its not a reboot and no none of them have read the books or seen any of the older CGI Starship Trooper movies. Its the usual for this site, a bunch of people who dont know anything about it talking shit. Nothing new here. You just have to learn to ignore them most the time.

I like the first one, but not because it's any good..it's [frick]ing terrible, but that's the whole point. Kinda. I dunno, it's hard to tell sometimes when Paul Verhoeven is being satirical or just retarded.

Robert A. Heinlein must be rolling over in his grave. Actually that one book, "Grumbles from the Grave" is very appropriate.

Johnnie Rico, by the way, is supposed to be Filipino.
