CAPTAIN MARVEL Star Samuel L. Jackson Weighs In On Those NICK FURY Disney+ TV Series Rumors

Rumours are swirling about the Marvel TV shows coming to Disney+, and now Samuel L. Jackson has weighed in on those rumblings about Nick Fury receiving the spotlight in a series of his own. Check it out...

While we know that TV shows revolving around Loki, Scarlet Witch and The Vision, and Bucky and The Falcon are being developed for Disney+, there have also been rumours about spinoffs for characters like Nick Fury and Sif. Now, Captain Marvel star Samuel L. Jackson has weighed in on whether he knows anything about a project focusing on the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director being in development.

"Oh, it’s gotta be true then!" the actor exclaimed when told about the online rumours. As for whether or not he's been told anything about a Nick Fury TV show, he added: "Nobody’s asked me yet, but we’ll see."

That's not a great surprise as the rumour didn't come from the most reliable of sources in the first place, and while it would definitely be a lot of fun to spend more time with Fury (filling in some gaps in his past in the process), it doesn't feel particularly essential. However, should Marvel choose to do that show, there could be a lot of potential there.

As for his role in Avengers: Endgame, all Jackson would say is, "I don’t know anything about Avengers: Endgame." For now, it seems as if he's sticking to the story that he won't appear in the ensemble.

Hopefully it will happen. I loved Fury in the Captain America, the movie was great as well. Definitely one of the best MCU movies for me.

It could be a prequel showing his past, or it could be present day and focusing on him trying to find new heroes post endgame.

@Matador - I thought it was an Abraham Lincoln quote... Now I start to doubt everything I read on the internet

I think Fury works better as a prominant side character like he was in The Avengers than having his own starring role, unless it revolves more about SHIELD in general or if he also get's an important role in that rumoured Hawkeye series. And for Sif goes the same, I think it would be more interesting if they pair her up with The Warriors Three and/or other Asgardians like Baldur (who is long overdue)

"That's not a great surprise as the rumour didn't come from the most reliable of sources in the first place "

And yet someone managed to spin two articles out of it...so far.

@thewanderer - id rather be in the know about every rumor, substantiated or not...

Than be in the dark about these things. If it weren't for this site, I wouldn't know jack shit going on rumor wise. I don't frequent reddit and I get most of my media/comic news from IGN and Gizmodo

Cbm fills in the gaps for me

@Vigor - sure, but to post a rumor from a source you openly admit isn’t reliable, is just shady.

@thewanderer - it's a throw a net and catch all strategy as opposed to professional fishing

I'm cool with it. You just have to take everything with a grain of salt and adjust your expectations being here

It's been this way for years. It's nothing new

If they do make a Nick Fury series and they manage to get SLJ back to play him, then rather than make it some prequel they should fill in the gaps since he took a less prominent role in the movies after faking his death in Winter Soldier.

As much as I'd love to see more SLJ and would be happy to watch a "Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D" show, I'm still hoping for them to announce, "Hawkeye" with Jeremy Renner, next!

Either way, I'm sure we won't hear anything official until after End Game.
