When Nick Fury was White and NOBODY Hasseled "The Hoff"

Get ready to rush to your local store! Nick Fury: Agent of Shield is being released on DVD September 30th--just in time for Christmas. Once upon a time, the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. was caucasian, and NO white man is whiter than David Hasslehoff. They love him in Germany.

Best Buy has an exclusive first-time release of the TV movie and cult-classic Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. ready to release alongside the Iron Man movie DVD release.

The obvious question to ask is, "Will this news hurt sales of the Iron Man DVD?!!" Such shelf space competition CAN'T be good! You can just imagine the fanboy angst as they agonize over which DVD to buy first. Shall I blow my $20 bucks on one of the biggest movies of the summer, OR, on the 1998 TV movie starring the old dude from Baywatch? Best Buy is betting that you'll get them both.

Written by David S. Goyer (”Batman Begins” and a slew of other comic-based films) and produced by Avi Arad and Stan Lee, the film centers around Nick Fury (played by The ‘Hoff) , former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., who is called out of retirement after his longtime nemesis, the dangerous and sexy Viper, threatens to destroy Manhattan. The film originally premiered on Fox back in 1998 and was subsequently rebroadcast on The Sci-Fi Channel, and despite garnering less-than-stellar reviews, has become a cult classic among hardcore comic fans.
