M. Night Shyamalan not doing his next movie in PA

Night will be filming his next movie in Canada.

Thanks to the state of Pennsylvania not having a budget, yet, it appears that filming for the next Shyamalan movie will not be in the usual place in PA, but will be in Canada. The budget in PA has to be done June 30 every year. This year there have been problems and there is still no budget done.

According to Penn Live "Pennsylvania's budget impasse even has the 'Devil' heading for the hills. The upcoming thriller by M. Night Shyamalan is moving production from Philadelphia north to Toronto.
Officials with the state film office say that's because of uncertainty about whether Pennsylvania's film tax credit will be approved in the budget. The budget has been in limbo for nearly two months.

Shyamalan lives near the Philadelphia suburb of Malvern and has filmed eight of his nine movies in the region, including "The Sixth Sense," starring Bruce Willis.

I know that it is a stretch, but since he has even filmed parts of "The Last Airbender" in the state I figure that it is relevant to the site.

I live in Bucks County, PA, where Signs took place. its so crazy, when the family goes to the pizzeria in town, i sat in the same chair as mel gibson. my family even almost bought the house where gibson stabs that hand coming out of the closet because it was for sale right as the movie was comin out.

see for me, thats awesome.

but i dont think this movie would work filming down in philly. aang would get shot. haha and is it just me or has this guys movies gotten worse and worse??

I don't know what happened to this guy, his first three movies were so good then the Village started the decline into some of the worst written, acted and directed movies ever produced.

My first house was 2 blocks away from the Morrisville Pharmacy there on Pennsylvannia Ave. They filmed the the pharmacy scene there for signs.. Took the day off, Mel came out and shook hands with the crowd. M. Night thanked everyone for cooperating.

He's made some good movies:

Unbreakable
Signs
Six Sense

.....and some pieces of crap

The Village
The Happening
Lady In The Water

I guess Avatar: The Last Airbender will be a hit or miss

Signs was total garbage.. It made no sense what so ever. If a alien species is so [frick]en dumb to actually attack earth which is what 90% water which actually hurts or kills them. It was just totally stupid. Unbreakable was ok, Sixth Sense was good I will give him that one but every other movie he has directed has been a waste of my money. Like Stumblin I will wait for it on DVD maybe.

i liked sixth sense, unbreakable, and signs. Signs was actually the most enjoyable to watch i think, sixth sense and unbreakable had great ideas and great twists but the middle of those movies were just so gosh darned BORING! you'd have like bruce willis just starring at his weirded out son or the kid that can see ghosts and that silent starring would take forever! also the village had a nice twist but that wasnt enough to save the rest of it from complete shittiness hahaha!

I like his movies he reminds me of Tarantino a director with his own style. It is refreshing even though you some might be dissapointed it is refreshing that the view is quite different.

I'm one of the few people who doesn't hate any of his films.
I enjoyed "The Happening" for what it really was, a parody of disaster movies.
Out of all his films, the ones I least enjoyed were "Signs" and "The Happening".

"The Sixth Sense" and "Unbreakable" are classics.
"The Village" and "Lady In The Water" are good films as well.

I thought the village was pretty good, I think people hated it so much cause they marketed it as a horror/monster film, and about 40 minutes in you find it's not that at all. I think people were just pissed about being misled.

And I live in PA too!!(Lehigh Valley/Northampton County) :)

I hated the Village because it was retarded, are you seriously going to believe a freakin' village which is living 1600's style in the middle of stat park? Come on!

Signs didn't make any damn sense for one, the water deal, two, why would they choose a damn farm which by the way is covered in fog and dew...what makes that? [frick]ing water! You walk through a damn corn field while their is dew you'll come out pretty soaked.

Lady in the Water tried entirely too hard, and the sheer ridiculousness of it, I couldn't even finish that monstrosity.

The Happening, they stressed the rated R bit so bad because in reality this movie sucked. Another one I couldn't finish watching.

Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense, slow but enjoyable, I can understand if people were bored with these movies but I thought it was done well.

@ crazyish
That is badass! Samuel L Jackson is awesome for that, I can just imagine him asking everybody if they want ice cream

"Hey guys, do you want some mutha[frick]in ice cream because I am buying. You guys can have any flavour, except for vanilla! Im having all the mutha[frick]in vanilla because I have had it with this mutha[frick]in chocolate in this mutha[frick]in ice cream truck!"
