Hello ComicBookMovie.com! I don't know about you, but when I heard that Tarantino would be venturing back into the west for his next film I was beyond excited, I was ecstatic about the news. I was a huge fan of his last film Django Unchained (2012) so I couldn't wait to see what he was going to do next now that he had become accustomed to the western genre. However with the cloud of drama that began to surround the film I was a little worried that we would never get to see this movie come to fruition. All my worries were put to rest though when the director himself, Quentin Tarantino, announced that he would be making The Hateful Eight (2015) as planned. I actually had the privilege to see an early teaser trailer for the film before Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014). There hasn't been an official cast announced yet, but names like Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell and Jennifer Lawrence have been rumored to be involved. Today we can add another name to the pile, and that name is Viggo Mortensen. Viggo Mortensen has starred in numerous films like; Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), Eastern Promises (2007) and The Road (2009) to name a few. The rumor was started when Tarantino and Mortensen were spotted meeting at Greenwich Hotel. Apparently the two were seen talking over scripts and characters that Mortensen could play, one of these characters might be a "ruthless gang leader". I must admit this is a very flimsy rumor and the fact that they were spotted talking about characters doesn't mean much, but the idea of these two very talented people working together is just so enticing!
The Hateful Eight (2015) is supposed to start filming within the next few months and it is slated for a fall 2015 release date. The story is supposed to follow the rising tension between an untrustworthy group after their stagecoach is diverted by a surprise blizzard. What are your thoughts on the subject? Would you like to see this happen? What is your favorite Tarantino movie? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading.
