ATTACK THE BLOCK 2 Officially In The Works With John Boyega Set To Return As Moses

Good news for fans of sci-fi horror Attack The Block, as director Joe Cornish is set to return to helm a sequel, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor John Boyega is also back on board as Moses.

A decade after the original movie hit theaters and won audiences over with its brutally entertaining mix of sci-fi, comedy and horror, a sequel to Attack the Block is officially in development from Studiocanal, Film4, Complete Fiction Pictures and UpperRoom Productions.

Joe Cornish is returning to write and direct, and John Boyega is set to reprise the role of Moses.

“It’s been a decade since Attack The Block was released and so much has changed since then,” said the Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor. “I’m excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favourite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honour.”

“I’m thrilled we’re officially announcing our return to the world of Attack The Block on the tenth anniversary of the film’s release," added Cornish. "I can’t wait to work alongside John again, bringing audiences an even bigger slice of inner-city alien action.”

The first film saw Moses and his gang protect their neighborhood against murderous alien invaders. Though plot details for the sequel are under wraps, it'll probably have a similar premise. Now word on whether female lead Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who) will also return as Samantha.

No release or production start dates have been announced.

The most burning question that needs answering: Did Moses finish Shippuden and does he like Boruto or not?

@Ha1frican - I just knew a sequel was NEVER going to happen. But like I always say “I’m usually wrong”. 😂

The first was pretty alright. I hope it isn't one of those sequels that gets a bigger budget and they use it on CGI abominations and ruin the charm.

WHAT?!?!

That came out of my mouth when I saw the title, and I'm the only one in the room.

Too bad no more Franz Drameh for obvious story reasons...

Let's gooooo!

I remember someone on here having an amazing pitch for an ATB sequel, not sure whos it was or even what the details were exactly but I remember reading it and being like:

Still gotta watch the first. Seems like a good reason to do so now.

Also, someone who's seen Small Axe. Saw it show up on HBO (and Boyega is in it), but I'm not sure yet about watching it

Loved the first one as well, but must admit had a little trouble with the very British London slang the gang was using. Still a great flick and looking forward to the sequel. And I do hope Nick Frost and Jody Whitaker also reprises their roles.

This is great news. Just the other day, I read in an interview that Cornish thought that ATB2 would never happen. I'm glad to hear that he was wrong about that (or bluffing). Hopefully, the theatrical audience for the sequel will grow because the original has developed such a big cult following over the last decade.
