Robbie Amell (The Flash) and Stephen Amell (Arrow) have been hard at work for the last few years on bringing their passion project, Code 8, to the big screen.

Code 8 is set in a future where 4% of the population has gained various supernatural abilities. These 'specials' though are shunned by society and subjected to a life of poverty and crime. One powerful special, Connor Reed (Robbie Amell), finds himself clashing with a militarized police force enhanced by robitic units and led by Agent Park, portrayed by Sung Kang (Fast & Furious). Stephen Amell plays Garrett, the head of the criminal underworld who Connor turns to for help making ends meet.

The movie is based off of a 10-minute short film the Amells released back in 2016 as a proof-of-concept teaser for a feature-length film. The short received widespread praise and interest online, with some comparing it to Neil Blomkamp's work, and the Amells launched a fundraising campaign that ended up raising over $2 million for the full movie.

With filming complete and VFX work close to being finished, the Amells have begun hyping up the release of their movie and have begun announcing premiere dates in various cities this spring and summer. We also now have our first official look at the movie, courtesy of a clip titled "Psyke Raid."

Personally I think this looks really good. The visuals are great, it looks well done and advanced and does have a Blomkamp-esque feel to it. Its a really neat concept, and its clear Robbie and Stephen have a lot of passion for this project and are trying to make it as great as possible. Bring it, Green Arrow and Firestorm!

@Soos - it really was. I like how they drop out of the drone. You can tell they put every single cent of the 2.3 million to good use.

@Soos - I also like the visuals and features of what the robots see, its very Terminator like. The robot figuring out the best spot to hit the door was cool.

My only problem is that they both look so much like each other that I'll just not buy that their characters are not related (I actually thought they were brothers for a while, not cousins).
