GLASS Looks Set To Take In Between $60 And $70 Million Over The Course Of MLK Weekend
The latest box office statistics for M. Night Shyamalan's Glass are in, and the divisive director's trilogy capper looks set to do near-record business over the long Martin Luther King Jr. weekend...
Box office tracking indicates that M. Night Shyamalan's Glass should debut in the $60 million-$70 million range domestically, which would be a near-record MLK weekend bow behind Clint Eastwood's American Sniper ($107.2 million) in 2015.
Shyamalan's follow-up to both Unbreakable and Split received a generally mixed-negative response from critics, but with a budget of just $20 million, the superhero thriller should still turn a tidy profit for Universal - especially when you factor in its lack of competition.
This holiday weekend would usually see a few big releases hit theaters, but rival studios reportedly stayed away for fear of losing out to Glass, which boasts plenty of star power in the form of Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson and James McAvoy.
