Last month, Netflix
dropped a trailer for Tim Miller and David Fincher's animated anthology series,
Love Death + Robots. It was absolutely crazy, giving us just a glimpse of what to expect from the new series which will feature eighteen NSFW animated stories.
Just two week's from its premiere, Netflix is back with another teaser, and it's just as nuts. The trailer sets up the series to be this magical, sci-fi adventure filled with love and excitement and, boy, could that not be more misleading. It quickly breaks into shot after shot of animated sex scenes shown in rapid succession. I assume that's the "love" part of the title. After about 10 seconds, the trailer gets to the death and robots part of the show's title.
"Tales of love, tales of heartbreak, tales of inter-dimensional fornication all converge in 18 NSFW animated stories," the new tagline reads. Each of the episodes in
Love Death + Robots has been created by different filmmakers from around the world. As such, each episode should feel different in unique in both the animation style and topic.
The episodes will cover adult topics ranging from "racism" and "government" to "free will" and "human nature," and will span a plethora of genres, including science fiction, horror, fantasy, and even comedy. The animation will range from "traditional 2D to photo-real 3d CGI." We get a taste of the wide range of stories that'll be told in
Love Death + Robots in the trailer below.
Be Warned: This trailer is NSFW!
Sentient dairy products, werewolf soldiers, robots gone wild, garbage monsters, cyborg bounty hunters, alien spiders and blood-thirsty demons from hell - all converge in eighteen NSFW animated stories.
Love Death + Robots will premiere on Netflix on March 15, 2019.
