You may not have even noticed her, but Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd did indeed have a small role in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens as one of General Leia's trusted Lieutenants named Connix. She even had some dialogue too, as Connix was the character that asked “General, are you seeing this?” as Leia watched from her command center.
Not exactly a meaty part, but Lourd has confirmed to /Film that she will return to reprise the role for Rian Johnson's currently shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII while being interviewed at Playfest. When asked if she would have more to do this time, the actress replied “Oh yeah, yeah. The last one was a little Where’s Waldo-y.”
Lourd also hinted that shed be sharing more scenes with Fisher - which makes sense of course, since she is one of Leia's Resistance fighters.
Star Wars: Episode VIII is set for release on December 15, 2017.
