It Looks Like BOBA FETT Will Indeed Be The Next STAR WARS STORY Movie After HAN SOLO

We know that Josh Trank was being lined up to direct Boba Fett, but we've heard very little about the movie since. Well, it now looks like the project is moving forward sooner rather than later...

We don't know what the next Star Wars Anthology movie will be after the release of Han Solo, but the signs are pointing to it being Boba Fett. With a script in relatively advanced stages, this probably shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, but it did look for a while as if the movie might be scrapped altogether after Fantastic Four helmer Josh Trank was unceremoniously dumped from the franchise.

My Entertainment World has added Boba Fett to a list of upcoming film production, a sign that it will likely start development in the very near future. Apparently, it's set to shoot at Pinewood Studios in London, and we have what may be a synopsis: "An origin story of the galaxy’s most notorious bounty hunter. Boba Fett is a Mandalorian warrior who was trained by his father-figure Jango Fett and became a notorious bounty hunter throughout the galaxy." Take that with a pinch of salt though.

Why? Well, notices like these are far from reliable, and the synopses in particular tend to be written by those working for these agencies rather than directly from the studio. Even so, this is a pretty good sign for Boba Fett, so we'll hopefully hear something official about the movie in the very near future.

Don't understand why people obsess over him and yet hate Phasma. Both do nothing.

@PeterStarker -

The Star Wars films weren't a massive part of my childhood, despite the fact that I did watch them a couple of times.
Growing up I read about Boba Fett being a baddass, and the lightsaber fight between Obi Wan and Darth Vader being iconic. Yet when I revisited The original movies, as an adult, I was confused about Boba not doing a lot and the Lightsaber fight not being that good. Although I did enjoy the movies more as an adult than I did as a kid, and loved the other main characters.

@PeterStarker - Boba Fett tracks the Millennium Falcon to Bespin, seeing through Han Solo's trick that fooled the Imperial Fleet.

Once there Vader repeatedly attempts to placate him, like in this exchange: FETT - What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me. VADER - The Empire will compensate you, if he dies.

Compare this to how he treats Lando in the same movie (VADER - I am altering the deal, pray I don't alter it any further.) and you can see that, while obviously keeping his word isn't exactly important to Vader, he is still bending over backwards to honor his deal with Fett.

People who keep repeating the lazy cliche that Boba Fett "doesn't do anything" need to actually, like, pay attention and stuff.
