Solo: A Star Wars Story didn't exactly soar to new height at the box office, and Disney taking a hit on the movie after expensive reshoots changed Lucasfilm's plans to move forward with an entire slate of spinoffs. Obi-Wan Kenobi was moved to Disney+, Boba Fett is now going to be a guest star on The Mandalorian, and we don't know what the plan is for the likes of Darth Vader and Yoda!
Despite that, the movie - which found a new director in Ron Howard halfway through production - has a devoted fanbase, and they're anxious to see what became of Han, Chewbacca, and Qi'ra between the events of Solo and A New Hope (especially after that surprise Maul cameo).
Now, exactly two years to the day since Solo: A Star Wars Story debuted in theaters, the #MakeSolo2Happen hashtag is once again trending on social media. That just proves how passionate fans are about a potential sequel and, at this stage, you'd think that some of these characters could, at the very least, appear on a Disney+ series to wrap up some dangling plot threads.
For the time being, it doesn't look like that's in the works at Lucasfilm, and we're left with a major cliffhanger which might not be resolved for the foreseeable future. However, if the #ReleaseTheSnyderCampaign proves anything, it's that studio execs may take note of support like this.
How would you guys like to see the Solo franchise continue? Or, are you not interested in seeing more?
