The King Finally Gets His Throne In Amazing New KONG: SKULL ISLAND Concept Art

Stunning concept art from Kong: Skull Island has been revealed which focuses on some of the movie's key scenes along with the King sitting on a throne as he's worshipped by the island's inhabitants.

Thanks to io9, we have a brand new batch of amazing Kong: Skull Island concept art by designer Eddie Del Rio. Many of these pieces will be instantly familiar to you as director Jordan Vogt-Roberts clearly lifted a lot of shots and went on to put them on screen almost exactly as they were originally designed.
That points to there being an extremely collaborative process behind the scenes, but two of these are particularly interesting. As you can see, in one version of the movie, it appears as if the plan was for Kong to have an actual throne and be worshipped by the natives of the island he calls home. This would have made for an interesting twist on the iconic monster being an actual "king" to these people.

Why was it scrapped? We don't know, but perhaps it just seemed too silly, especially as Kong's relationship with humanity is developed quite slowly throughout Kong: Skull Island. Thoughts?

@ConnorHawkeye - that's some cool art. I didn't dislike the suit to begin with but it's certainly growing on me. All I need is some gold boots though! Both the show and the movie ain't sarisfying me in that regard. Lol

@JoeMomma29 - The spider leg death scene was brutal, yeah, but everything else didn't shock me that it was in a PG-13 movie.

@JoeMomma29 - but weren't they hilarious? Especially the man who got his arm chopped off by those winged creatures. So cruel, so good. I loved those black comedy moments

As someone who thoroughly enjoyed and even loved Godzilla (I really like how he's barely even in it), how does Kong stack up? I can tell from the trailers that it looks to be addressing the main complaints about Zilla's film.

More action, more monster screen time, more humor, etc.
