Avatar: The Way of Water's Digital release comes bundled with hours of special features, and one eagle-eyed fan (via SFFGazette.com) has come across two script pages that were on screen for a mere split second.
However, thanks to a well-timed pause, they offer a much better idea of what to expect from next December's Avatar 3.
Many fans have theorised that Colonel Miles Quaritch will see the error of his ways after spending time with his son, Spider, and it's confirmed that he and Jake meet to discuss the teenager. That appears to take place after an unknown event takes place which allows Spider to breathe Pandora's air despite the fact it's toxic to humans.
If we had to hazard a guess, this has something to do with Ewya and the fact Kiri seems to have a deep connection with both that Pandoran deity and Spider. Perhaps she'll harness her burgeoning powers to change his biology and make him part-human, part-Na'vi?
Other reveals include the Sully family's return to High Camp, the fact Neytiri returns injured, and Wainfleet being alive and well.
A new character called Va'ru is also mentioned, while the RDA appears to be building a mysterious new device at Bridgehead.
Our return to the world of Pandora last year proved to be both a commercial and critical smash hit, becoming the third highest-grossing film of all-time behind only Avatar and Avengers: Endgame after earning over $2.2 billion worldwide and receiving four Academy Award nominations, including "Best Picture."
There's still no news on a Blu-ray release date, meaning the only way to watch Avatar: The Way of Water at home for the time being will be to buy it on Digital platforms. This also means we can expect to wait quite a bit longer for the sequel's highly anticipated Disney+ debut.
As for Avatar 3, that's been shot and is currently set to be released in theaters on December 20, 2024.
