they should have spent most of the movie on the island, instead of getting to it.

This movie was incredibly beautiful!!

And the duration timing makes it in every way a great film! :)

I have two questions for you all...

1.) Did you guys know that they were actually considering to do a prequel film for "King Kong" to show Kong's background story of how he became the last survivor of his species on the island?

My second question is would you all be up for a sequel to King Kong? Involving a possible offspring that somehow we were never fond of. Kong's lifespan was more than 140-160 years old imagine how old his offspring would've survived. If there was an offspring it would reach Kong's age by the 2070's or 2090's! Just wow!

I would be all in for a sequel to King Kong to give it a modern like feel to the audience.

What do you guys think???

@TheBlackWolverine

But how will he get the offspring? Please, no asexual thing like Godzilla 1998.

I loved Jackson't King Kong. Sure some complain about it being long, but you can always just fast forward. And it's sooo much better than the crappy remake in the 70's.

I'd see a Son of Kong

@JGAR

Honestly I would have Kong's crazy rage from the 2005 film be a reasoning for him protecting his son. It may sound a bit crazy but possibly the reasoning why he stole the woman was because he wanted a mother for his son. Regardless of her size he saw beauty and dominance when she showed him she wasn't afraid of him when he kept knocking her over.

It would make sense to know that the mother of the Son of Kong died after trying to defend him resulting in Kong having one of the biggest rages of all time.

It would make sense to have Kong hide his son somewhere safe during the 2005 film so that we would understand why he wasn't always around the female protagonist. Possibly he had to make sure his son was receiving all of the correct nutrients and attention he needed?

What so you think???

I think a sequel would be awesome...if done the right way of course. Heck, they made a prequel (and sequel) to The Wizard of Oz, so why not? A modern day version of King Kong would be great, but his rampaging would need to be completely insane for it to work.

Perhaps have the Son of Kong get blasted into space where he has to fight aliens... just kidding.

I love this movie. I always make sure to watch it at least once a year. Just so much effort put into it.

@TheBlackWolverine

Yeah, I heard that they were making a prequel awhile back based on the book Kong: King of Skull Island, which focused on Carl Denham getting stranded on Skull Island and his son and Jack Driscoll going there to look for him, only to find out about the history of island and where Kong came from. THAT would be dope, especially is Peter Jackson came back.

This movie is so underrated. Sure, it was a little long but it had great visuals and a stellar score from James Newton Howard. Plus, Kong was a boss!

While all the logos are good, Jackson probably went with the best one because it has more of 1930s feel to it.

Also, when is he going to release a 3D conversion of his King Kong Director's Cut? All those jungle and cityscape shots just beg to be seen in 3D! I would definitely buy a copy.
