Love and Monsters premieres at home - and in select theaters - on October 16th from Paramount Pictures, and takes place seven years after the "Monsterpocalypse." Humanity has been forced to hide underground, but Joel (Dylan O'Brien) decides to embark on a dangerous mission to reunite with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick) after reconnecting with her over the radio. However, with dangerous monsters standing in his way, their reunion isn't going to be an easy one.
Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War) are also part of the cast, and we recently caught up with Jessica to discuss her role in the movie.
We'll be sharing the full interview with you soon, but in the meantime, we have some highlights from that which sees Jessica talk a little about her roles in The Matrix 4 and Godzilla vs. Kong. Henwick's star is very much on the rise, and it's been reported that the actress will be the new lead of The Matrix franchise. There, it's said that she'll be playing a "Neo-type" character.
"[Laughs] I don’t think I can talk about The Matrix, unfortunately!" the actress told us while taking a break from shooting in Germany. "I’m filming it now and I’m having a blast. Everyone is amazing here in the cast, so I’m just...I think I have one month left."
As for Godzilla vs. Kong, Henwick praised the experience of working on the upcoming crossover.
"Yeah, filming Godzilla vs. Kong was great," she shared. "It actually introduced me to Australia before I went to do Love and Monsters. I flew all the way to Australia, did Godzilla vs. Kong, flew to LA for maybe two weeks, and then boom, I was heading back to Australia for Love and Monsters! I fell in love with it. I love the Gold Coast, it’s just such a dream place to film."
So, some vague updates, but it's clear Henwick is excited to share both movies with fans over the next couple of years. For now, definitely make checking her out in Love and Monsters a priority!
