Let me start by saying that I am one of the few people who really enjoyed the last battle in MOS, and believed that it could not be matched. But here I am a few Fridays later, my belief shaken.

First of all, this movie is not at all like the cgi shitfest of our old Bay’s Transformers. This has a solid story line. All (read two) the character are complex and have their own back stories. The plot is written perfectly and I couldn’t find any opportunity to nitpick (si, how did bruce wayne get into gotham; why can’t the president control the iron patriot etc) although I don’t get the human fascination towards the Walls. The acting overall is good but the two that stand out are Idris Elba and Rinko Kikuchi.

After teasing us with a small (but powerful) battle at the starting, the movie explodes in the best action I have ever seen. GDT does something so amazing that is transformed me into a kid. He has created something no one could. I was smiling the whole time when the jaegers were ripping the kaijus apart. I could not believe what GDT has given us. That action right there is the reason Imax 3d Is a must. The action pieces are spectacular and believe me it makes the action in other movies (read avengers, Mos, iron man 3) look like Childs play. This movie manages to balance action and emotions perfectly.

GDT has done an excellent work in creating what I believe as the best monsters till date. The designs of the kaijus are awesome. The kaijus have a logical design. They look spectacular in the big screen. I would like to see the kaijus have their own personalities in the sequels(if any). The design of the jaegers is good.

I can’t really find any negatives but if I had to, I do feel that the other two 2 jaegers deserved more (read a lot more) screen time, hell I would have liked another hour of those epic battles (who won’t?)

There is one solid reason to watch pacific rim in Imax 3D, GIANT MONSTERS VS ROBOTS!! This movie is what summer blockbuster is all about. Punch your thoughts below.
