While we await a full-length trailer, Hasbro and Netflix have released the official poster for their upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always 30th Anniversary Reunion Special, featuring new shots of our favorite returning heroes and our first look at the villain of the piece: Robo-Rita.

Further details on who or what Robo-Rita exactly is are being kept under wraps, but The Illuminerdi reported earlier this month that she will not be the same character from the original MMPR series and will instead be an original character created exclusively for the Special - with original Rita actress Barbara Goodson returning to voice the part.

As per their report, her evil plot will revolve around Robo-Rita "capturing Rangers all across the world, stealing their powers, turning them into figurines, and keeping them like they’re her trophies." This will presumably help explain the absence of some of the non-returning O.G. cast members.

In addition to the villain, the poster highlights the four Rangers that will be at the forefront of the Anniversary Special, as David Yost (Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger), Walter Jones (Zack Taylor/Black Ranger I), Steve Cardenas (Rocky DeSantos/Red Ranger II), and Catherine Sutherland (Kat Hillard/Pink Ranger II) all reprise their iconic roles.

Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam Park/Black Ranger II) and Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell/Yellow Ranger II) will also return in supporting roles as members of the mysterious SPA, with newcomer Charlie Kersh portraying Trini's daughter Minh Kwan.

Richard Steven Horvitz is also back as the voice of Alpha 5 and, as we mentioned above, Goodson will voice Robo-Rita.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always starts streaming exclusively on Netflix on April 19.

Check out the official poster below:

In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, 30 years after the wise and powerful Zordon formed the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the team comes face-to-face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise “Once a Ranger, always a Ranger,” Once & Always reminds everyone when you become a Ranger, you are always a part of the Ranger family and always welcome.

@Lokiwasright - I mean, they actually might not. Or at least not completely. This is supposed to lead into the upcoming cosmic fury. It's possible Rita will escape and join lord zedd.

No matter how dumb and cheap this will look having a reunion movie like this is going to weigh so much more than the quality.
Reunion movies for classic shows are preferable to recast reboots.

@Blergh - Agree, this is apparently going to be the final time any of these characters reprise their role too before the Netflix reboots the whole universe so it holds more weight to the people who grew up with MMPR.

I'm fine with them recasting as long as its a full reboot.

@mastakilla39 - I always prefer revivals over reboots, if they do reboots not with the same characters then.

@Blergh - I'm just wondering how they're gonna handle the green ranger. It's confirmed a green ranger will be in it with the classic shield and everything, but Jason David frank turned it down before he passed away.

Hope the people this is geared towards enjoy it. I used to love Power Rangers as a kid. I tried rewatching the original series a few weeks ago. Got two episodes in and wish I just held onto the memory of it instead of attempting a rewatch.

@DudeGuy - rewatched it recently, early episodes are rough and the show is still what it is but id say maybe skip to the Green Ranger 5 parter, picks up steam there and the show gets better

@dracula - might actually do that. Thanks for the tip!

Wished Austin St John and Amy Jo Johnson were in this too, but it is what it is. Great seeing David Yost and Walter Jones finally returning after such a long hiatus though. Looking forward to Hip Hop Kido lol

@mastakilla39 - Didnt austin st john commit wire fraud? maybe he got off of the charge but im pretty sure that was what he was being charged with.

Amy Jo, big bummer shes not in it, she was my first celeb crush when i was a kid - i remember trying to watch felicity because she was in it.

@mastakilla39 - it's cool how committed David Yost has been to power rangers despite what he went through. Dude went through the series longer than any other of the original cast, and he definitely had it harder than anyone. And this reunion was something he himself was trying to get off the ground. That's committment.

I can still remember when the first power rangers show first aired the kids I knew were all like it’s whatever but everyone was going crazy to collect the toys. The main reason I even got into it as a kid was because my neighbor had every characters action figure and the knife/gun, morpher, etc. I mainly liked the gun because it transformed but I started watching the show just because I liked the toys.
The good old days.

I can't downplay how essential the Mighty Morphin seasons and actors were to my childhood. I want to be stoked but I'm also tempering my expectations. I'm not expecting this to be good, I'm expecting this to be fun and nostalgic.
