Producer John Davis recently said,

“Shane’s got a writing partner, Fred Dekker,” Davis told Collider. “They’ve been doing it together and Fred’s great. The two of them together, they’ve been in the business for a long time, but the writing is so fresh, the perspective is so fresh. I’m telling you you’re going to get something you don’t expect and you’re going to say, ‘This is the most entertaining way to reinvent a franchise.’ I mean he’s the guy who wrote Iron Man 3.”

Black seems to be hard at work on the film, but it’s not clear if Predator will be his next project. Black is also working on film adaptations of Doc Savage and The Destroyer.

peoples main concern with iron man 3 is that the mandarin was a twist..... but that's not really a problem from a writing standpoint, it wasn't that big of a deal, sure it was lame but it wasn't the movies main problem, the writing was alright from an objective point of view it just wasn't interesting enough nor exciting/believable from a directing/acting standpoint...

Iron Man 3 used to be my favorite MCU film before Ant Man.

Because, lets be honest, there were NO Mandarin fans until after that movie came out.

I've seen every iteration, even though I continue to be disappointed. The original Predator still holds up, and I'll pay to see this too, for better or worse.

@Retribution13 I appreciate the Iron Man 3 love. The majority of people on this site and other fan sites have irrational vitriol for that movie. I find it very watchable.

As long as he isn't working on superheros, Shane Black does a fantastic job.

Loved Iron Man 3. Will watch this too. Love this franchise. Have since I was little. I think Predator may have been one of the first horror movies I ever watched.

Ehhh, I didn't know he was a Pittsburgher. That helps his cause. I really didn't like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but it's been a long time since I've seen it.

The only things I didn't like about Iron Man 3.

1.The Mandarin Twist
2.That little kid.
3.Weak as shit armours.
4.Some of the comedy was shit as well, like when Stark putting on the Armour near the start of the movie.

I've never even heard of that movie. I like some of his writing, it's just his directing that I didn't care for.
