Very little information has been revealed about the new Predator movie, aside from the fascinating tidbit that the film will take place in the American subburbs. That alone separates it from the jungle settings of the original films and now we have a few fresh details on the plot.
In a recent interview with
Shadow Nation, The Predator actor Thomas Jane shared some new info about the group of soldiers who find themselves facing down the alien monsters.

“We play these veterans from like Afghanistan, Iraq war or whatever. But we’re all [frick]ing crazy so we go to the VA hospital to get our meds. We’re all like shellshocked, PTSD…soldiers. We’re at the VA hospital and we’re in group therapy and of course, somebody flips out…this is backstory, I don’t think we really see this…somebody flips out and we all get arrested and get thrown onto the bus to go down to the hospital and they throw this other guy on the bus too.”

From these details it sounds like the group might just have the experience necessary to take on the advanced killer lifeforms. Jane also shared a little information into the other individual along for the ride.

"He’s a guy they’ve actually marked to kill him because he’s seen a UFO, he’s seen the Predator ships come down so they lock him up and throw him in with us lunatics. They’re going to take that bus, drive it down to a ditch and shoot us all just to get rid of this one guy. But, of course, we take the bus over and we’re all like ‘f**k that, man, let’s go kill these [frick]ing Predators ourselves.’ And we’re just crazy enough to believe that this guy really did see a UFO and there’s these aliens out there. So that’s kinda cool!”

There's certainly a lot to dissect in those details from a potential alien cover up to a team of army vets who may not quite have their heads screwed on straight. Jane also promised the director's signature comedy definitely has a prescence in the film:

“[It] has that kind of Shane Black humour. We had a blast. It was funny. You know the Predators, they looked…you know they didn’t f**k those up. They’re still Predators and they’re pretty much the same Predator as always. I think it might be great.”

We still have a while to wait before the hunt begins as The Predator isn't released until August 2018. However, based on this new info it seems like we could be in for something quite unique.
