Preview Of PROMETHEUS Deleted Scene: The Engineer Speaks!

One of the scenes from Ridley Scott's Prometheus that was quite memorable was the encounter between Weyland (Guy Pearce) and the Engineer. Check out this teaser of an alternate version.

For the theatrical cut David (Michael Fassbender) tries to communicate with The Engineer, and as we wait for a reply, the enormous human-like alien gently taps the android on the head. Okay, seems like it'll be a nice chat, and then he rips David's freaking head off in an abrupt and vicious manner. In that version the audience is left with more questions, not truly knowing if David's message was understood or not by the Engineer. But the version below solves that mystery as for the first time you will hear the Engineer speak. Speak I say!

In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system's natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers. Ridley Scott, director of 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner,' returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus, is directed by Ridley Scott and stars: Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, and Michael Fassbender. The film will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD October 9th.

I am glad they cut out him speaking in the movie. It's better that way. There's a lot of mystery in Prometheus, and I like not having everything spoonfed to me the way your typical summer blockbuster is usually done. It's kind of cool wondering what the engineer is thinking.

@maximus-Dude, you weren't the only one. I loved Prometheus, thought it was [frick]ing awesome! If you view it without comparing it to Alien than it is amazing. It has to be viewed as its own entity.

I liked this film, I really did. I felt however that it was definitely a stand alone film and the connection to Aliens just felt forced.
It did however leave me with a great deal of interest in where they are going with the history. I hope the sequel comes out soon.

@Godzillafart - "The thing that Prometheus makes clear, is the Scott is a great director, but when he has worked with wonderful, intelligent scripts it was simple luck. Prometheus was a beautiful, tense, wonderfully acted movie with one of the dumbest scripts we have seen in years." - That Sums up this movie perfectly!!!

I love a good mystery as much as the next guy, and I definitely don't need plot points "spoon fed" to me. But I bet no one can tell me one good movie that left so many of ITS OWN questions unanswered...

One of the two best scenes in the film got even better. Although, he should not speak (as in the previous deleted scene).

The other one being the alien solo caesarean.

@Seejay

If you've ever had surgery before, that alien caesarean procedure performed in Weyland's reprogrammed medical bed is terrorizing. A very close relative of mine is a marine and had a caesarean section. Now marines are taught to fear nothing, to not feel pain. She was instructed by the doctors to take it easy, not go up and down stairs. The moment she gets home from the hospital she's going up and down the stairs out of shear stupidity, yes, but more so some ingrained ideal that she could persevere through the pain, I guess. She is strong, hard headed and determined individual, similar to Shaw. Point being it's not implausible for someone that far in the future, to be stumbling around after surgery. It can happen in present day.
