Earlier this month, director
Ridley Scott spoke with the
Sydney Morning Herald and revealed that he has already written the next "Alien" film, following
Alien: Covenant. While no significant information about that project followed, the 79-year old director stated that he could “keep cranking it for another six” years.
In a recent interview with
Fandango, Scott spoke more about the aforementioned project and provided us with a somewhat muddled description for it.
"There will be another one before we kind of literally and logically, clockwise, back into the rear back head of [the original] Alien.” Wait, what?
Luckily, Scott elaborated on his comments, and much to our surprise, he also revealed the film’s title and timeline placement.
"It will go Prometheus, Awakening, Covenant…fairly integral where this colonization ship is on the way...."
Before Scott had the chance to continue, cast member
Katherine Waterston intervened, saying that the legendary director was
“giving away too much.” Even though this was an attempt to get Scott to stop rambling, he then said that if
Alien: Covenant and the alleged
Alien: Awakening is a success, then there will be
THREE more Alien films that follow.
“If this is successful, and then the next one, and then there will definitely be three more."
If Scott's words turn out to be true, are you shocked that "
Awakening" will take a step back in terms of time, rather than forward? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
