After Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) breaks the Prime Directive he celebrates his misconduct by sleeping with twin female aliens (Katie & Kellie Cockrell) as the Beastie Boys' Body Movin' is blaring.
In Mauricio Ruiz's concept art below, Katie and Kellie could've had a much different look. The final version was subtle, with only the cat-like tails revealing them to aliens. But below you can see much more dramatic makeup concepts that played around with various skin tones, hairstyles and facial patterns.
By the way, you may not have heard, but that scene actually drew a bit of controversy from the religious nuts.
Kevin Swanson, a pastor from Colorado, on his
radio program condemned the scene for showing a human being having intercourse with an alien species.
