CBS' Star Trek: Discovery is currently in mid-season break, but with Season One's Chapter Two less than a month away, the studio has revealed a fresh batch of character posters.

The posters are of sleek black and white design, and feature  Michael Burnham, Lieutenant Saru, Captain Lorca and the (recently absent) Klingon separatist, Voq. You'll notice each poster features the tagline "Discover the Unknown," which is likely in reference to the midseason finale in which the USS Discovery jumped into uncharted space.

Have to be honest, the Kingdon poster looks more like she was looking the wrong way as there is zero effort made to do a pose of any distinction

A reckless, mad scientist for a captain? I love this show.

Lorca is the reason to watch this show. If you don't like JI, you'll very quickly run out of reasons to bother. But if you do like him, it's not terrible.

The best way to watch this show is to believe it is part of the Abramsverse and in the future because it, in no way, takes place before the original series and in the same timeline.

@411IDSigo - Well...Why can't it be a prequel to the Abramsverse

@Kevwebsz - I guess it could be but the technology they have is a bit more advanced that the Abramsverse movies.

Also, Data was the first android on board a starship, and the ship in the Pilot episode had an android, or at least a robot.
Also, the Klingons look a lot more advanced and evolved than even the Abramsverse Klingons.

All things considered Future would be better.

@411IDSigo - If it were set long after "The Next Gen" say by 100 years, I'd be a lot more comfortable LOL!

I get it - the show has grown on me, but for the makers to suggest it's not a reboot when clearly it's a reboot is just utterly daft (with a smack of Lorca arrogance).

Mind, if there's a plan to make a brand new "Star Trek" set 10 years after Discovery, my goodness, they really have to get the right actors for the iconic roles. As for the ships, tech, aliens thus far, not bad, but found the drawn-out Klingon monologues a tad too long.
